Newbie Question about Sweep Surface

I'm going through the documentation for Hexagon to get more familiar with the tools. I'm at the part describing the Sweep Surface tool. The video shows a cube with 2 tessellations (a 3 x 3 grid). They select the 4 corners and sweep, kind of like creating table legs upside down. In the video, all the little legs go out from the center in different directions. When I do it, all 4 go in the same direction. How do I change the behavior of this tool?

Before you perform the sweep, select the middle top polygon and move it up slightly. Once the 4 corner polygons(that you are going to sweep) are at different angles, you will get the sweep as you expect.

Thanks, worked for me too. I don't typically use the sweep tool, more of a fast extruder myself *grin* But this is good to know.
