Daz3d to Maya breaking the rules/EULA question

Hey all,
I just stumbled upon Daz3D and am trying to understand what is acceptable and what is not (Read the EULA and am still confused). I am an animator and character TD that works inside of Maya. However, I hate to model. I've seen some pretty sweet things done with Daz3D and am wondering if I can export the character(s) to Maya and re-rig (hate the Human IK rig and I'd want to add more joints/rig differently/etc) and animate for personal projects/portfolio/etc. So essentially, all I'd really be using would be the base mesh (probably "morphed"/edited) and probably textures (probably edited in Photoshop) and shaders.
I know that I can export as FBX and import into Maya (was able to test this already). That's not the issue. I'm really just wondering if I'm breaking the rules in doing so.
thank you in advance for any guidance!
Tim

DAZ sells a product to port Daz figures to Maya.

Edit: Here's a thread discussing this product

As long as you are sharing only 2D output - still images or animations - then it's fine, you can even sell the output. The only, limited, exception at this time is the Anne Marie Goddard Digital Clone for Victoria 3. It's only 3D output - as data embedded in a game or other software, or physical 3D prints, that have additional restrictions or require additional licensing.
Thank you both for the information
If I wanted to share (free) my edited/re-rigged characters within the Maya community are there restrictions there? Would I need to purchase the interactive license? Also, is that interactive license a one time fee or do you need to pay the fee everytime you purchase something for a specific character?
thanks again
Yes, there are restrictions. No, you cannot redistribute it for that purpose. Not even with the Interactive License.
You could check with DAz3D if they re interested to take up your product (the re-rigs) into the store. That way, people could buy the items with the proper rights for usage, and you'd get something for your effort.
Gotcha, thanks for the reply Cris. I had a feeling that would be the answer too...
That may be something worth looking into BeeMKay. However, the rigs would be "Maya" type rigs. Not anything that would work with the "HumanIK" that Daz3d-->Maya does. However, I'm still extremely new to Daz and am slowly starting to understand how it works. So, maybe there would be something that I could come up with and be able to contribute to the Daz market.
thanks again for the replies
