Grey Blocks

gcshepgcshep Posts: 31

I have created my own directory and named it My Library for my free items from (Wilmap's Digital Creations) plus purchased items from Renderosity. However, when I import anything they appear as grey blocks. Any help would be much appreciated.

Using DAZ4.10.0.123.PRO

Best Regards

Have you also made the dirctories knows to the Poser part of the settings? When you add just the DAZ directories, Studio can't find important parts like the geometry, which is stored in the "Poser" part of the directory.

Also, you can't have the "My Library" inside of your already existing "My Library" folder. Then DAZ can't read the "stacked runtimes" and gets confused.

Please check out this thread for the images as to where you have to add the directories: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/927004/#Comment_927004

I see the problem, what you need to do is copy/paste data, people and runtime folders to My Library > My DAZ 3D Library folder.

@AJ2112 that's not neccessarily so. You can have the content outside your main folder, but it has to be done properly. No need to clutter everything together.

But in the above example, he has a library "Runtime" in the Wilmap folder, and one a level higher under "My Library". That will not work. He either needs a "Wilmap" top directory that is made known to DS, or has to move everything from inside the Wilmap folder up one level to the "My Library".

In my example installation, I went through the "Wilmap" type of installation, and that works perfectly fine.
