Top View Zoom Speed

I often use the Top View for item placement or at least rough placement of items as I work on an area. I Zoom Out with my center Mouse Scroll Wheel. In really large scenes to zoom all the way out or quite a ways out, it can take a LOT of scrolling. Is there an Accelerate Key for the Zoom? Or a Zoom/Show All?

There's ctrl-F to frame, or use the [ ]  frame icon at top-right of the viewport. You might also want to look at the change log http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/change_log#4_11_0_159

    Thanks!!!

Somehow selecting the whole set and using FRAME never popped into my head. Probably because I use it the opposite way to focus on things like hands and fingers, LoL!

Looks like the next version has the variable Zoom. Will be fun to play with.

Read through it again... via the (scripting) API, not the UI.

Well I will wait for a set of utilities then. No time to delve into scripting at this point, LoL!

I use Frame all the time so now picking a whole scene or usually the base/scene layer can pop me out to see everything in 1 click.

There is one for shure. I don't know the default shortcut but you can have a look at your settings by opening the Window > Workspace > Customize dialogue (or press F3). At the bottom you will see the View Controls and a dropdown menu with the Dolly and Zoom (Dolly) controls - the shortcuts in use will show up right behind and can be changed by double clicking the shortcuts and pressing the new key combination.

My shortcut for Dolly is Alt+MiddleMouseButton once I hold that I can zoom in-out by moving the mouse forward-back and pan sideways by moving the mouse left-right the same time. For me its better than just zoom because while doing you can correct the point its zooming at, by default it's zooming towards the screen center I guess. Also its stepless (you can zoom closer to tiny objects without clipping trough) and can be faster compared to the default Mouse Wheel zoom.

Have a look at my thread How to Customize Daz Studio
