How to re position facial features

I have a project where I have to re position the character's ear from one location on the head to another. Being a newbie in the 3D modelling world, I am not sure how to achieve this.

Can I do this within Daz, or do I need to work on the model in other software?

Any guidance on this task will be very much appreciated.

You would likely need to do a morph unless you can find a morph set that physically moves the position of the ears. It is likely something you would do in a 3D modeling program though I am have not worked with Studio's Dformers, maybe someone else has.

Can you show us what you're trying to make as it would help us possibly recommend something?

If it's the case of a 3D modeler, do you have one and are you familiar with how to work in it?

    Thanks for your reply Cris.

I need to re position each ear higher or lower on the head from the "normal" position.

I haven't used any 3D modelling software, so I am trying to identify the most appropriate one to start working with.

How much higher and lower? Pics would help.

Is this a Genesis figure? Is it Genesis 8? Is it the male or female figure? There are two sets of morphs in the DAZ store, Genesis 8 Male Head Morphs and Genesis 8 Female Head Morphs, which give you (among lots of other things) some basic ear manipulation morphs — size, up/down, forward/back, among others.

Cris - I have attached an image to explain what I need to do.

SpottedKitty - thankyou so much for your reply. It looks like it will save me having to work in another program I'm not familiar with. Can you confirm that the Gen 8 head morphs will do what I need (see attached image).

Yes, that's exactly what the Ears Height and Ears Depth morphs do.

Note that there are matching body morph sets for the G8F and G8M, plus a set of basic expressions, that are generally considered to be a useful starting set for anyone wanting to experiment with morphing their Genesis figures. They're on sale at fairly regular intervals, sometimes at a really deep discount (if you're not in a hurry and don't mind waiting), plus an extra 30% discount for Platinum Club members — stick them in your wishlist and keep an eye on the prices.
