How do I move hair that's been unparented and not fitted to anything?

I have vertigo ponytail. I ahve it unparented from Genesis 8 and it's not fitted, but I can't move it around.

    Weird, unfitting in the scene explorer is not enough. You have to actually click "Fit to" and click none.

    What did you do to unfit in the Sceen pane? Are you sure you didn't unparent it, rather than unfitting it?

    I need more coffee. I guess I never unfitted it.
