The terraces are actually graded (ramps) for heavy equipment ... its a quarry. They connect in places as in the detail.

    That they do.

Will need a bit of cutting and moving but that should be fairly easy to do once the basic shape is established.

This is what I'm trying to achieve...

This is what I have for my first terrain after several hours of fooling around with the TE panels.

    And this is the rendering.

    Hey @Handyman,

Over in the Carrara forums is a thread about the 'Digital Carvers Guild' plugins going open-source, and I believe there is a DAZ Studio version of 'Ground Control' available, which I believe can pull in a variety of terrain maps and get them into a form that you might be able to use. Perhaps it can read 'GRD' files. Maybe the DS version is also free now and might be able to get you closer to your goal. It's the only DAZ Studio plugin there, upper-right corner of the 'Ground Control'  'blurb' section, last/bottom of the SW package downloads options.

Try: http://www.digitalcarversguild.com/plugin.php?ProductId=7 (I think it's OK to share this link, given that it's a freebie now?)

I'm not sure if Eric recompiled it to be 'free', but I'm sure he'd gladly help you out over in the Carrara thread.

    cheers,

I'll be durned if an extra space at the end of my original URL didn't throw the link to a 'placeholder' on the site.

Please try the link again, or just go to the Carrara page and find the 'Ground Control' page, and it should b e there in the upper right area.

Sorry for the confusion. (I was able to downnload a file, but did not try it. YMMV)
