Why have characters an extra gens map?

maybe a stupid question, but I play around with different skin settings at the moment and noticed that the characters have an extra gen map in spite of the genitals being depicted more exatly on the torso maps already. 

Why is that?

there is a geograft addon for more accurately sculpted genetalia, the extra texture maps are for it.
