What texture can Capsces's Boopsie use?

in New Users
Hi, I have many Capsces's products. But although I had Boopsie ( the original one) for so long, I have never been able to use it. Because, I tried to use V3's mats on it, didn't work, A3's mats, did not work neither. So, is the original "the Girl" mat is the only one to apply on Boopsie? But "the Girl" that I own does not come with a nice texture, and "the Girl Accessory" only has a few mats. There is almost none out there. So unlike Brom, Kioki, HItori...., the other Capsces products, this Boopsie just sat there for so many years and did not come out to play, what a pity. If anyone knows where I can get Boopsie some mats would be much appreciated.

The original Boopsie uses The Girl, so you would need to use materials for that character only. The alternative is to create your own UV map to support other characters since, as far as I'm aware, no one else has already done so. There is a more modern Boopsie for Genesis 3 though you might want to check out. Since it uses Genesis 3 textures, there's a much wider variety of characters available.
As Herald of Fire already noted, Boosie uses textures for the original Daz Girl. I think there used to be more, but I could only find one in the Daz store.

Unfortunately, most have probably disappeared due to her age. There is a set of morphs for the generation 4 Girl which can use generation 4 textures.

The new Boopsie is not by me, but it looks like a good option if you want a Geneis 3 character.
The G.I.R.L came with 2 versions. One with her own UV's and one with Victoria 3 UV's. I'm pretty sure that the mesh is the same so Boopsie should work with the V3 version.
Thank you all for responding to this. Pwiecek, no, V3 does not work with Capsces's original Boopsie. And Capsces, thank for your reply, I already purchased Boopsie g4 a few years ago, I just don't feel right to see the original boopsie, such a vesatile, powerful model cannot get some good use. But to have you in person replied my question, it's such an honour. Well, it's too oo bad that there is no texture for the original Girl anywhere, sad.
The G.I.R.L has a version that uses V3 textures but Boopsie doesn't. But you can create one.
I'm a poser user. This may work in DS, if it doesn't, maybe a DS guru can tell you how to modify it.
Basically you are going to edit the boopsie CR2 to look fotr the V3 UV obj instead of the original, I can give a more detailed explanation later if you want but right now here is the quick and dirty:
Make a copy of the Boopsie Cr2.
Open it in a text editor.
Replace BOTH occurences of blGirl.obj with blGirl_v3UV.obj. Youll have to scroll down a page or 2 to find the second reference.
Save
Use the new copy instead of boopsie.
Remember that A3 material zones are different than V3 eventhough the UV map is the same.
If DS can't find blGirl_v3UV.obj, you might have to reinstall
hi pwiecek, yes, a more detailed explanation would be much appreciated! I shall follow your instruction step by step, I am not a guru and I don't have any to tell me how, so please go slow, thank you!
Well, I misspoke, The instructions I gave cover everything you have to do. I was offering a more detailed explanation of WHY this is necessary.
I'm on my way out the door but I will see if I can come up with something clearer tonight. With some pictures.
Do you use DS or Poser?
PC or Mac?
You may not be a Guru, but this doesn't need a guru, just basic text editing and a VERY careful hand.
I use DS 4.6, 32 bit, Mac. Thank you in advance! Hope we'll bring the original Boopsie back to live!
I'd forgotten all about the V3 UVs. Thanks for pointing those out pwiecek.
Following are pretty much the same instructions as pwiecek gave but from within DAZ Studio.
In DAZ Studio, right click in an empty space in the CDI Boopsie figure folder and select "Browse to Folder Location." Copy and paste the Boopsie.cr2 and name the copy Boopsie_V3UV.cr2. Open Boopsie_V3UV.cr2 in a text editor. Search for blGirl.obj and replace with blGirl_v3UV.obj. There will be two instances. Save the file. You should now have a Boopsie that works with V3 textures. I'm hoping these instructions will work for your version of DS, so please let me know how it goes.
It worked! Wow! that's amazing! Thank you both very much! I am so happy! And so is Boopsie!
Cool.
Happy to hear it is working.
If you're looking for clothing, Capsces site still has some conversions of The Girl Outfits.

Crossdresser from Evil Innocence can convert from a wide variety of characters to The Girl, though you still have to find a way to add the Boopsie morphs. Unfortunately, its Windows only.
