Can anybody explain why some figures, mostly Genesis 3 female gets deformed when you
pose them. Also when you try shaping them??

That's not normal. What version of DAZ Studio are you using? Also, which character are you using? What pose is causin this, or what shape? Has it always done this, or just started recently? If recently, is there any character/shape you have  installed?

It is possible that some shape you have installed is faulty; could be a freebie or a paid for content. You could try uninstalling your characters except for the base, and then keep adding character after character until the one the is causing this pops up.

I am using DAZ 4.10 This happens to several G3F Characters and many different poses. It has been like this for a long period.
    Some characthers work fine..

It does look as if either there is a shape applied that hasn't had the rigging adjusted, or there's a rigging adjustment in effect without the shape it supports being set. If you load a plain Genesis 8 female and apply the pose do you get the distortion? If so does applying Edit>Figure>Zero>Zero Figure Shape chaneg the basic shape and remove th distortion?

No Genesis 8 gets no deformation when posing. Only G3F

I think he meant G3F. If you load plain G8F and apply the pose, and do the things he said to do for G8F, does the problem appear, too?

Also, is uninstalling all 3rd-party and freebie G3F characters/shapes an option? Or at least, the freebies? Then check if the problem still happens.

  • Yes, I go my numbers muddled. Sorry. So this affects the plain Genesis 3 Female loaded from the Daz preset? If so does the Zero Figure Shape command fix it?

  • OK, since zeroing the shape fixes it that means a morph is being applied on load - if you load a base figure (not a character), select the figure, and in the Parameters pane's Editor tab click Currently Used, what is listed?

Daz is currently looking at my log for this scene so hopefully i will get answer from them....

Richard, While on this subject, suppose a slightly different scenario: Currently Used shows some smile morphs imported with GenX2 from G2F. I believe these smile morphs are controllers. Is there a way to determine which base morphs are used? That might solve a somewhat related problem I'm currently having similar to the OPs.

If you open the Parameter Settings dialogue from the gear icon on the slider and look at the Sub-components tab that will show the morphs (and other things) triggered by the controller.
