Sharing

Somewhere i read that its possible to share the Daz library with a mac pc...thus using the mac to work/create/pose/set up the scene and afterwards using the pc just for rendering...i would really like to do this because i have a 27 inch 5K retina imac which has a beautiful screen...so i would like to install Daz on it just to prepare/set up my scenes for rendering...because the actual rendering on the imac self is completely out of the question for me because i am not willing to wait hours for one render...thats why i just want to use the imac for the set up process...after that i will do the actual rendering on my pc which has a GFORCE 1070 card which produces blazing fast renders.

So is there any explanation/tutorial on how to set this up and how it actually works (sharing the Daz library with both computers)

If you have the same products installed on both computers and identical folder structures/paths, you can just transfer a scene created on the mac to the pc and open it and render.  If the paths don't match, you will be asked to locate the missing files.

But how do i transfer the scene to the pc?...

  • The same way you'd transfer any file, though of course you will have to load it from the file menu or the Content Library>Daz Studio Formats>some folder since it won't be in the database.

The "save as" allows you to save a copy of your scene  to a different location (for example a memory stick). On the pc, create a new folder (bla bla scene export) and put them there, then use the open command in DS to locate the files. Or you can use an internal network(complicated) or you can attach the scenes to a mail if both comps are online;)
