Issues with Animate 2

I know Daz isn't great for animation but it's the best I've got. I'm fairly skilled, but still have issues with Animate 2. Sometimes I'll import a figure and there it simply will not accept a block. Other times it will...and I'll bake the block to keyframes. But once I do that I can't do any more blocks for that figure in that file.

It sounds like you maybe trying to use older motions files for new characters..

Aniblocks for animate2 timeline are character or generation pacific , which means each aniblocks is made for a certain character generation like  generation4 or genesis1 or 2 aniblocks will not work for genesis 3 or 8 or vice-versa, unless you retarget them.

Please check to see if your using the right generations character motion file or aniblock on the character your trying to use on the timeline.  you may find that is the issue your having,  because of your trying to use older generations motions files to work with newer generation characters , which will do funky undesirable things

Thanks. I'll look into that, but I don't think that is the issue. My experience is that aniblocks either apply or they don't.  Older aniblocks may only partially apply...the character moves but  some limbs are wonky due to the different bone structure.

How do you retarget an aniblock? I have a lot of old aniblocks that I'd like to use with current figures.  i.e.  G1 or B2 blocks applied to a G3 figure.

This free script works pretty good for transfering poses & animations from g1 & 2 to g3

Pose and animation conversion for multiple generations of DAZ figures
