Hedges in C8P, are they possible?

I need some hedges for the building/scene that I’m working on. I think have seen some done for a contest on here but I need the more boxer type such as those in the link below.

If possible I would like a guide on how to do them so I can make them.
Thanks,

answer, surface replicators!
I made a vertex maze object and replicated my plant on it
(to be fair some of this video, the first bit and end was my plant exported from Carrara as an obj to iClone and duplicated)
Wendy beat me to it while I was rendering out the pictures.....
Create a branch.
Create a vertex object in the shape of the hedge.
Replicate the branch on the vertex object.
Hide the vertex object....
I made a fairly large branch. so I had to uncheck the Align objects to normal, but with a Z (blue) rotation on 180 deg.
The branch was made in the plant modeler..
Varsel,
That's super close to what I want but some reason I can't get the branch to come out with a "flatten" top with Wendy's & your help I got an untrimmed hedge, & I would a trimmed hedge closer to that your hedge.
It might be the shape of the branch/tree.
I did a quicky...
A couple of thing that I did notice...
Uncheck the tip mark both under the trunk and expert tab.
Increase the leaf size. This is a branch and not a tree. You could afterwards adjust the size in the assembly room.
Adjust the leaf orientation so the leafs are pointing more downwards. It gives a tigher look.
Set the tree shape to - pruning to cylindrical or inverse conical.
Replicate enough branches. In this example there are 800 replications...
