Totally new to ALL of this, the interface seems like it's easy enough, but how do you customize

I know what I want to make, and I don't think it's going to be too intensive with what I've seen with how models work.

How do I build a custom model, I'm willing to buy kits or whatever, like this hair, this skintone, these clothes, I feel like if I can get those down, I'll be able to make what I'm trying to make. Any tips? is there some kind of generator where I can just say this model, with this hair, wearing this outfit, I don't need to make the outfits hair from scratch i'm more then willing to use pre generated, but how do I do this.

I have 0 experiance with this kind of technology

  • Assuming you are using content from the Daz store, if you load your base figure and have Filter By Context checked in the Smart Content pane you should see all the items that work directly with that figure listed in their various categories (Figures for characters, Hair, Wardrobe).

Daz has a whole series of helpful video tutorials and some interactive tutorials.built right into Daz Studio. There are more interactive tutorials you can download, along with free content bundles to go with those interactive tutorials. Here is a link to the getting started video

Daz Studio is totally customizable!  You can swap skin and different shapes, use different articles of clothing (aka "kitbashing") to create a unique look.

Start with the tutorials and get the basics down.  The New User Contests are a great place to get feedback and advice - and it doesn't matter if your work is not polished, you will learn so much.

The forums are your friend.  Anytime you have a question, feel free to ask.  There are many people here who are all too happy to help you out.

Here's a great way to search the forums - paste this into your browser search window, and add what you are looking for.
