edited December 1969 in Carrara Discussion

Okay the 3D Tooth Fairy left an e-mail saying that Carrara pro 8.5 IS HERE. WOO hoo ran downstairs fired up my mac pro running OS10.8 and could NOT wait to buy it..

PROBLEM/S

1) Its say Street price $285

Q) What? Where's the upgrade pricing?

2) System requirements for mac! WIll not work on MAC OS 10.7 or above!

Q) WHAT ARE you "F"ing kidding me REALLY

I have waited seems like at least a decade for this new release only to find out when it comes out it is already 2 VERSIONS behind almost 3 versions behind my operating system! ARE YOU "F"ing kidding me!

I don't know where you are reading that? Take a deep breath!

    From the Product Page.

    ◦Support for:
    ◦Windows Vista, 7 and 8
    ◦Mac OSX 10.6, 10.7 and 10.8

The price is $285 less 50% off for owners of previous versions, and another 40% off if you are a PC member

Got the right page, or am I missing something? http://www.daz3d.com/carrara-8-5-pro Says it supports up to 10.8 Been years since I used Macs, so I don't know what they are up to now, but Mac support seems to lag behind for many apps.

I ssumed it mean NOT CAPABLE WITH MAC OS 10.7 that that means OR ABOVE

That is the spec for Carrara 8 as far as I can see?

I would go by the Product Page.

Yep. There was conflicting DS 4.5 and 4.6 pages getting about for weeks (maybe months) after release. The store page that actually lists 8.5 is a lot more credible than a page that makes reference only to 8.

I'd also suggest the new product page would offer the correct information and specs.

Where do you see this? All I see is the $285 sales price and — after adding it to the shopping cart — I get the message "If you were a Platinum Club member you would save - $114.00 Making your total - $171.00". It does not apply the 50% "previous owner discount" (I have every version since #1).

According to your description, I should have
    $549.95 regular price
    -$264.95 (48% off sale) = $285.00
    -$142.50 (50% prev owner) = $142.50
    -$57.00 (40% PC member) = 85.50
    +$24.00 (3-month PC membership) = $109.50

Once you are a PC member then you should see the correct discount price when you view the full cart, My guess is that you will need to first purchace the PC membership, and have that applied so it makes the changes to you account details.

Thenyou should see this when you go to the full cart view

Indeed i think Chohole ---has what a pro 8 pc member should see. Seems a lot of folks do not for some reason . Maybe his suggestion if you are not a pc member do that firstly.

I hope all this gets iron out soon for people ---it seems like an bad start. But DAZ is good to make things right.

Thanks Chohole. So my math was correct, but the shopping cart calculations are wrong for some people. Not sure if it's only non-PC members or just random, but the previous owner discount does not appear to work for many people in the forum.

The problem with some apparently not getting the correct discount has been flagged up to DAZ 3D.

Thanks. I'll wait until the end of the day to see if the issue corrects itself. FYI, this is why my shopping cart looks like:

I suggest that maybe you need to purchase the PC membership, then when that has taken effect, then purchase Carrara.

I dont think thats it, cause I am on the fence, but here is what I see (I am not a PC member). Maybe hit that "Update Shopping Cart" button?

Comparing 3doutlaw's screenshot with mine, we clearly see the problem is with the previous owner discount, not the PC discount.

By the time it's fixed, maybe I'll have $85 to spare.

Yes, indeed. We have notified them of this problem, and as they have now arrived in the Office, hopefully they will be working on it.

    I had to pay 171.00
hope that DAZ will solve that, I'm a long time User of Carrara PRO and a current, long time Platinum Club User.

Tickets are first come first serve so the chances you'll hear something back today is unlikely though not impossible. I would plan on hearing something starting tomorrow.

No previous owner discount here either. Will wait until it shows up properly.

Go to the product page: http://www.daz3d.com/new-releases/carrara-8-5-pro
Scroll down to the link at the end of description: http://www.daz3d.com/products/carrara/carrara-tech-specs/
All the tech specs are for C8, not C8.5.

Edit: all the pages under http://www.daz3d.com/products/carrara/ are still about C8.

I purchased Carrara 8 Pro in Jun, 2013, and I have no PC membership, so the price for me is $142.50, correct?

Update: DAMN, I meant to post this on the official thread.
