Smay's Fire and Smoke with Luxus/ LuxRender?

Does any one know if it is possible to convert Smay's excellent "Fire and Smoke" props for use with Luxus/ LuxRender?

There is a thread that briefly discusses the smoke but not the flames.

In the even that this not possible, does anyone have suggestions for how to handle smoke and flames with Luxus?
