Need Help. Want to make separate maps for different areas of my object.

I can UV unwrap the geometry of my object, and I can select the faces I want to modify. I have disassociated the faces in the UV editor so that I can transform only the selected faces.

How can I make the selected faces use a different material from the unselected faces?

Is this possible?

Is there another tool that you can recommend that might be able to work better for my task?

Thank you guys.

Yes, in Hexagon prior to UV's, create additional shading domains for each of the surfaces/polys you wish to treat individually. The shading domains are created in the panel below the material panel in the left hand pop out window.

The individual colour(s) of each shading domain is created and associated to that shading domain in the material panel above.
