    I hope a few more play with this, I wish I knew which star groups are meant to be red giant suns, yellow suns blue etc, I think the groups are according to star magnitude but not named as such, if I knew would shade accordingly

    I guess we could try to match up the dots to one of the labeled images out there.  Here's one from Wikipedia Commons (more info at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milky_Way, image source at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Galactic_longitude.JPG, originally from NASA so it's in the public domain):

    I think the camera position in the original is our solar system but whether that info is imported intoBlender and subsquently Carrara is another matter.
