I try to open a scene file from Daz4.6 in Carrara 8.5 but have a bunch of error-msg like
file/data/DAZ3D/Genesis/Base/Morphs/.....could not been found
The scene opens without problems in Daz.
Any ideas?

I'm not sure what you had in your duf file. Here is a thought -
Possibly, If you still have older Genesis files in your system library, you'll be able to open it without trouble in DS as it always could open it's own stuff. Carrara,on the other hand, needed to stuff to become updated before it could tell what it was. Without a good uninstall prior to reinstall of most Genesis stuff - especially from the earlier releases of Genesis stuff - the older file type under the same name still remains - as it cannot be overwritten, being an entirely different file extension.
This is why you'll often see me going on about the importance of uninstalling before reinstall, etc.,
When I noticed that I had two identical Genesis files to chose from I knew that I needed a fresh start again.
This might not be your issue - but that's what it feels like to me. Try going into Carrara in your content library and seeif you can find all of the items that you were trying to import.
The Daz User File (DUF) is actually like a sequencer. It just takes the data from where it was collected and pieces it back together under certain settings. This makes it so that friends can now easily share scene assembly files back and forth - as their not actually sending copy protected material. Just the assembly file. As Genesis became updated, it was important to uninstall it with each update to remove the obsolete files.
If that is the case, however - Just because I have opted for a "Fresh Start Install" doesn't mean it's the only way - not at all. You could comb through and check for duplicate file names - check to see which is newest (should be .duf file type too) and get rid of the other. Since I've not done this, I couldn't really say, for sure, where to look. But the path you mention in the first post would be a great start. It might be that the problem is not even be in there though - but stemming from the Genesis file used, if it wasn't the .duf version - but the .dsa version instead.
I have build my library complete with DIM, so it should not be an issue with older installations....
Perhaps you could describe the issue more thoroughly? What was in the duf? How did you save it?
Did you save it to your DS library and open it that way in Carrara? We know nothing so far except that it is a duf that errors out because of missing morphs that aren't missing. The only thing I can guess from that, is that something within that DUF is either older than what was set up to be read in Carrara.
Checking further, did you install to an existing folder when you installed with DIM?
The error that you're talking about is something that DS can read but Carrara cannot. I'm fairly certain that.
Perhaps we should back up a bit and talk about what is in the duf scene.
After working through the Auto-Fit experience, I was pleased to test that all of the duf stuff that simply comes with DS loads into Carrara pretty nicely - with the exception of things that we already know- that won't work. Like the lights were there but I doubt that they work - as there's no light settings in Carrara when selected. The cameras were working, but I have not tried anything like a 'special' DS camera. I'll have to try that.
Hopefully we can figure out what's going on here. ;)
FYI - you can load V5 directly into Carrara from the content library and work with her in Carrara. This is the recommended way of doing it if you wish to use the Shaders that came with Carrara for her.
The scene is simple, only contains V5 with customized shape, skin and hair. All used parts show up in the Carrara browser.
I used DIM without changing any presets, no custom folders etc.., so the installations should be fine.
Carrara is is looking for the morph settings, the complete set for V5 (incl. Micheal5) parameters can not be found.
V4 and V6 .duf files working as they should.
Uninstall and reinstall the morphing packs for V5 with DIM did not make a change...
But if I saved only the shape in DAZ I was able to apply it in Carrara to a Genesis figure.
