RCDeschene Renders Thread
Wow, I'm TERRIBLE at being a DAZ member! I'm just NOW realizing this forum exists! Usually, I just stick exclusively to the Commons and Member's and few others of extreme rare occasion. But never have I actually realized that there was an entire section dedicated to renders! :ohh:
Yeah, I REALLY suck! But yes, this will be a lovely place for me to render dump my (highly unprofessional) "works". As most of you who know me here may know, I'm not much of a usual scene guy. Most of my use of DAZ 3D Studio and products are almost completely concentrated on creating original characters for my countless story ideas. I love coming up with plots and character roles, but visualisation as always been a challenge. So DAZ 3D definitely helps me articulate and manifest satisfactory projections that always ends up giving me new ideas I never would even conceived prior to the render.
I hope you all like what I have to show! :-)

That's why so many of us put links to our Art Studio in our signatures, because they don't link the Art Studio in the Forum drop down. When you get this going, be sure and put a link to it. And welcome to the Art Studio :) Looking forward to surfing in and seeing your renders, doing your own thread becomes highly addictive, lol.
Thanks! I'm sure it will be, knowing me especially!
Alright now, let's kick this off with a couple of characters that are closer to me than anyone could guess...
WARNING!! You're all in for one hell of a read!
I am someone who has always found genderism and the spirit of gender to be a highly significant thing in self-identification and how one socially connects with others. I am someone who, though is male in body, feels connected with both inner maleness and femaleness in a balanced union of consciousness.
In Jungian Psychology, the concept of Animus and Anima are the analyzed inner developments of genderism within one's inner consciousness. The Animus, the more Male/Masculine side of a woman is how men are socially, logically and ambitiously viewed while the Anima, the more Female/Feminine side of a man is how women are emotionally, creatively and practically viewed. The Animus and Anima are also evident in the Oriental philosophies of Dualism in the "Yin-Yang", where Yang is Light, Positive and Active energy while Yin is Dark, Negative and Passive energy, yet each contains the other's respective gender within them (the symbol of the swirling Black and White "Tears" with the polar "Dots").
As a New Age Spiritualist and practicing Astrologer (among other things) myself, I tend to look at the idea of the Animus and Anima on a more “cosmic” scale that relates to both men and women equally with the way celestial bodies correspond to gender in Greek Hellenistic Philosophy. The Animus, or “Masculine” Planets are The Sun, Mars, and Jupiter as the “Soul” attributes of Ego, Passion, and Wisdom, while the Anima or “Feminine” Planets are The Moon, Venus, and Saturn as the “Spirit” attributes of Emotion, Love, and Discipline. Mercury is seen as a Social “Hermaphrodite” of Knowledge and Communication, as the joining force between Soul & Spirit/Male & Female in one Body.
These two characters are my personal Animus & Anima, "Brextor" & "Brextora". Their names are the gendered version of my birth name, "Robert" and "Roberta" respectively anagrammed and with an extra letter added. This stylization is inspired directly from my most favorite video game franchise, Kingdom Hearts. In the story is the concept of the "Organization XIII", a group of special "Nobodies" (conscious entities that are the bodily remnants of those who lost their hearts to darkness) whose names are those of their "Original Selves" anagramed with the insertion of the letter "X". Though, not remnant beings lost to dark forces, Brextor & Brextora's position as anthropomorphic sentient halves of my actual Self is vaguely comparable to the idea of inner separation nonetheless, as well as to help shed some relatable understanding to their concept.
Looking at the characters more directly, Brextor is a very energetic and rambunctious Animus. Embodying my Sun Leo, Mars Aries, and Jupiter Gemini, Brextor is the side of me that is, not only the most beaming in social interactions, but is the one responsible for my brash and overly-enthusiastic habit of exclamation. For this, I depict him in a robust orange color of athletic attire. In Brextor's scene image, he casually leans against a structure during a radiant sunset, showing a forward-look of confidence towards the sun. Nearby is a decorative statue of a finely shaped male figure, representing my superficial of ideals of sexualism and physique. Brextora is a rather distinguished, yet very complex Anima. Embodying my Moon Taurus, Venus Gemini, and Saturn Sagittarius, Brextora is the side of me that seeks universal pattern and mental substance in worldly companionship. For this, I depict her in a sensible violet color of modern occultic dress. In Brextora's scene image, she sits respectably, yet comfortably on a bench of fine stone on a white day. Her face is firmly planted in a tome of detailed information, showing a stimulating attitude towards concentration and education of interest. Dressing the stone area are aesthetic vines with colorful violet flowers to help symbolize my attraction to the beauty of consistency.
There are other details as well, but maybe you can perceive them for yourselves... ;)
The render with Brextora reading is very soothing, nice job on the lighting. The violet flowers add a very nice touch coming down the left side, nice contrast to the solid marble.
I know, right? And thank you kindly! :) Most of my work is very intuitive. I'll go into a scene with only a very vague idea of what I want to project, but once I get into it, the scene always ends up building itself. Then, once I feel like the "picture" is done, I take a good look at the render like a Tarot card and let my perspective unveil it's own inner meaning to me.
I can't stress this enough, I'm VERY New Age Spiritual and I love taking metaphysical approaches to things. ;)
This one here is a character I slapped together a while back as a subject that I used for back when I was giving Dreamlight's Lighting Master. I remastered her using the new G2F technology for a basis of a character situation for the Creative Writing Workshop I'm apart of this semester. I'll post the bio and chapter itself here as well for those who may be interested in reading it:

Scarlette Rose is an agent of the organization, Amythest, led by wealthy restaurant heir, Sapphire Violet. Her real name is Amber Calanthe, which is Latin English for "Red Flower". The name "Scarlette Rose" is an alias she adopted after the violent murder of her beloved fiancé, Aurum Citrine to represent the scarlet blood he was bathed in when she found him as well as the ruby red roses he'd always give her. The reasons for his murder are unknown leaving her furious and depressed. But a random call on his cellphone from Sapphire a month after Aurum's funeral would cause Scarlette to agree to meet with him at his self-run lounge headquarters in Manhattan. Sapphire told Scarlette that he believes he may have credible information as to who was the one who murdered Aurum as well as for the reason why.
GARDEN OF SIN - CHAPTER 1
Scarlette Rose stood outside of the Amethyst Lounge Bar & Restaurant after tipping the taxi man. Her slim hand encased in a red silk fabric glove reached into her purse to retrieve her cell phone. She gives the Manhattan city scene a cautious glance to ensure there are no unnecessary spectators before placing the device to her ruby-decorated ear.
“Sapphire, I’ve arrived.” Scarlette uttered plainly.
“Splendid! I already told to the host to expect you.” The male voice on the other end confirms, “I told him to expect the walking flower; lovely as a summer rose on a starlit evening.”
“Charming.” Scarlette responds, sounding impressed before adding in a harsher tone, “Now cut the shit. I’m coming in.” and bluntly ends the call before entering into the establishment.
Inside, the cherry neck-length cut vixen is spotted by the French host in his nicely pressed suit and violet vest and tie before the podium.
“Ah! Madame Scarlette Rose!” the host smiled professionally, “Allow me to personally escort you to Monsieur Sapphire.”
“No thank you.” She refuses apprehensively. “I have a knack for spotting people like him out of a crowd.”
“I see,” the host comments, “kind of like a sixth sense, no?”
“No.” she responds, “I see it as something more like a jackass radar.”
“Um… Understood, Madame.” The host receives awkwardly before resuming his work.
Scarlette ventured into the main lounge room where dozens of finely dressed patrons inhabit the various tables, sofas and barstools.
"Shouldn't be too hard to locate an oaf in a blue suit around here…" Scarlette thought to herself, traversing through the crowd, "He's supposed to be infamous for keeping a violet in his jacket pocket…"
She looked on as she saw the many clusters of enlightened faces, grinning and laughing to each other in the midst of their casual chatter. Some take notice to Scarlette's presence and each give her a strangely warm nod of welcoming, as if they knew she was new to the lounge.
"Oh, to be young without a care in the world…" Scarlette muttered under her breath.
She decided to stop over by the electrically lit bar counter and leans back to get a good overview of the lavish lounge-goes.
"Looking for someone?" the Brooklyn-voiced bartender asked Scarlette from behind.
"No one I can't locate myself." She responds.
"Ah, I get it. I take it you're looking for the boss, right?" The bartender correctly guesses.
Scarlette looks on at him rather surprised. "Boss? You mean--"
"Actually, Sapphire's up in his office at the moment, taking care of some "personal matters" as he likes to call it." The bartender continues, "Man, he always does this to his clients, especially to the new faces."
Scarlette continues to eyeball him cautiously.
"Look, forgetaboutit!" the bartender digresses, "How 'bout I get ya's a drink? On the house!" and pours a small glass of the lounge's best wine. "You should take a seat and get comfortable. I'll call him down here, tell him his "summer rose" is waiting for him."
Scarlette takes the glass with a bitter scoff before making her way to one of the empty sofas. While sitting, she finds herself eyeing a young couple, a brunette male in a golden suit caressing and starring lovingly into the face of an orange-haired female in a magenta gown. Scarlette quickly looks away, unable to tolerate the sight.
Suddenly, her moment of quietness is interrupted with the masculine sound of an "Ahh! There you are!"
Nice. Very cool! Scarlette's expression is great.
Big time! Even I can't argue that's one of G2F bigger pluses! :)
I'll see what I can do for Sapphire next. Chapter 2 is his big official introduction (as you could probably tell from the end of Chapter 1).
Wow, I kind of forgot about this thread! ._.
Here's a little something I quickly slapped together as an experiment between Genesis 1 & 2. A Genesis male elven prince with one of Teen Josie 6's Let's Dance poses a in ballet variation. The incentive for this particular one was mostly out of service to a friend of mine who I often mention when classical dance becomes the topic. She's a young dancer and is kind of like my DAZ partner in crime when she comes around. She personally never has time or the money to sit down and use DAZ herself (as most aspiring dancers have busy schedules, of course). But she always loves it when I make a render. She says she thinks what we all do is really cool and that she's a big fan of Aiko and Hiro almost as much as I am (she's really into anime). :)
For the longest time I was desperately looking for Genesis level dance poses and since Genesis 2 is built on the same mesh, almost all poses are quite workable between the two.
Nice. Didn't think to try Josie dance poses on male figures. This looks quite nice and natural.
Oh, trust me, I was thrilled to find this out, myself. As I said, I did this to test the theory that, since G2 is merely an updated G1 mesh, all poses between the two generations should be a lot more compatible. Surely enough, they work, and flawlessly at that. No mesh warps (meaning no 3rd party scripts needed) and no big adjustments. It's fantastic! :-)
I've sometimes used G2 female poses on men. But you have to get around the obvious pelvic tilt that they seem to overdo in g2 female poses. thoes can look okay for females, but on men, not so much.
This looks nice, though. =-)
Really? I haven't really noticed. Then again, most poses I apply to my Genesis characters, regardless of whether or not they're compatible with the character shapes themselves, always seems to have a bit of a warp in the torso - pelvis area. Even most of my male characters, who I go out of my way to give fit, slightly muscular builds, also look much slimmer when posed.
Oh look, it's THIS thread again! :D
I was board and so I figured I might as well do some dumping...
WARNING!!! ANIME ARYAN OVERLOAD!!! <3</p>
Based on a Facebook birthday meme involving what my fictitious role would be if I were in an anime, I made a brief series of how such a situation would play out if my OC were a swimmer like in the anime "Free!".
Hello Art Studio! It's been a while!
Here's a render of a game I'm currently obsessed with thanks to tumblr and my horror friends! :)
ARE U READY, DAZ?
