Content/Product View Index Curdled

Content manager is running, Smart Content is behaving well, all the metadata seems to be where it was two days ago... but the alphabetic index to the Products list in the Content Library tab is not an alphabet, but a random sequence of letters, some repeated ('D' seems common). If I select one, it does point to a directory with the products starting with that letter, but it's pretty useless.

Is there a way to fix this without reloading the whole database? (I am command-line capable; this is a Mac OS X Lion system)

That doesn't sound like a database issue, but rather a graphics card issue. If you switch to a different layout and then switch box, does it display correctly?

Well, the problem fixed itself magically. The only thing I did was install a bit of new content. Problem not 'solved', exactly; but it is no longer a problem.

If it does recur, please submit a bug report.
