Animation Noob needs help
HI. I am working on a video for a friend, mostly using a slideshow technique. But I thought it would be cool to have a little animation . I want to frame the slideshow with a clip of an old guy playing guitar on a bench.
So I have questions about DAZ and animation. First off I am using the free version.
I'm confused why there are different types of animating. I mean there's puppeteer, Animate blocks and then I think you can use poses. Are there certain things you can do with each type of animation so it's a matter of using these tools together or do you choose just one and go with that.
Also are there any people creating animate blocks and sharing them as freebies?
I mean I don't want to spend hours trying to get this guitar playing clip and then find out I could have used an already made one.
Also can I create an animation by creating it one pose at a time then saving them ?
I tried to save a pose but then i couldn't find it. :( So how do you save your poses and find them ? I also see you can save them as puppeteer preset..also tried that but also couldn't find it. LOL
I'm kind of confused what the difference is between posing and puppeteering?
So any help would help.:)
Sorry for the noobness.

I don't use DAZ Studio, so I'm not sure it can import Poser motion capture files (Carrara can). But here is a set of 16 or so Poser format motion capture files for DAZ's M4 playing guitar & bass (instrument props included):

You'll have to scroll through the product list, I can't link directly to this product:
Rock On Guitar & Bass Motions Pack $17.50
They also offer a single guitar playing mocap fo $10.
It sounds like you can use the arms & hands alone, so your old guy could be seated, I think.
Thanks.
They would probably work but they're a little pricey for me right now. But I'll bookmark them for the future thanks.
I've been working on making poses with the guitar chords..I'm trying to figure out if I can then just load one pose after another onto the time line. It seems that might be the way for me to go if that's' possible.
