Information on Carrara 8.5 (Pro) and AMD "Enduro" Mode

Hello Everyone,

If you are running Carrara on a PC (most likely a laptop) that features an AMD GPU that uses the graphic switching technology called "Enduro," you may have some issues. Every time I ran Carrara with Enduro turned on, Carrara will cause the AMD driver to crash, forcing Windows to restart it. When that happens, Carrara will hang and cause to have to force it to quit. This is very annoying as it happened every time I ran it. I was never able to get completely through a scene setup before it crashed. I tried 4 different graphic driver versions (including 2 beta versions) to see if it solved the problem, which it did not. So today, on a whim I disabled Enduro (not all laptops allow you to disable it), which forces my laptop to use only the AMD card. This seemed to do the trick, and it ran flawlessly. Not sure if this is a Carrara problem, or an AMD problem, but I thought I would post this in case someone else is having this issue. Good luck!
