Merry Xmas and bon voyage!
Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and Bon Voyage. May you have smooth sailing. It sounds exciting.
Simon - look in your PM box.
Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and Bon Voyage. :)
Good luck on your trip Skipper...batton down the hatches...smooth sailing ahead!
:-)
Forgive my possible ignorance, but why would you batten down the hatches if there's smooth sailing ahead?

To keep the troublemakers out of the way? ;)

To keep below-decks behaviour out of high-angle lines of sight. Obviously.
LOL. Right!
BTW, there is going through my head, "I don't care where the water goes as long as it's not into the wine," but I can't recall where it comes from. Can anyone help?
check the cargo and hatch for the hole - I guess that what you wanted .
Cheers

I REALLY have to read some Chesterton! :)
I REALLY have to read some Chesterton! :)
Here's some to get you started:

Chesterton is practically peerless among English-language poets, I contend. The short list includes Tolkien, Eliot, GKC, Donne, Chesterton, Poe, Edwin A. Robinson, perhaps Hopkins, Chesterton... ;)
Thanks for that, Chohole. Very clever of you. Robkelk too. That's a useful page.
Still on a literary theme, on 17th Feb we are due to drop anchor off Robinson Crusoe Island (pop. 110). It used to be called Juan Fernadez, but they're cashing in. I guess that we will have to go ashore by tender, so with my mobility problems I may not make it. We'll see.
Hello to all of my old friends and acquaintances! After an amazing four-month trip all around the world, I am once more back home.
Southampton back to Southampton, taking in places such as Rio - Ushuaia - Valparaiso - Robinson Crusoe - Pitcairn - Tahiti - New Zealand - Australia - Borneo - India - Crete - what a trip !!! I did not immediately log on here because there has been so much to do, such as writing-up a whole barrel-load of notes and memories before I forget them, then sorting/editing something over 1000 photographs. The end of that mammoth task is in sight however, and I expect to upload it all to cloud storage within a few days.
Whoops. Double pic. I guess that I am out of practice. :-)
LOL, I just thought it was a stereo image ... ;)
Welcome back and congratulations on your 'round the world adventures! Judging by the picture you didn't have to suffer through a horrible winter like we did...we as in those of us on the Western edge of the pond. Not really sure what it did in your neighborhood. At any rate, nice to see you back and glad you had a good time.
So, when are you taking your next one? You can't do it just once, ya know?
Before and after? Southampton sure has changed.
Welcome back!
Let me be the first... second... okay, third to say "Welcome back!"
And the fourth Welcome back Skipper. Glad you had a great time.
Welcome back, Skipper! What a great voyage and adventure, I'm sure!
Dana
