@banditcameraman:
You have probably noticed by now the two options: HideBeltToLeft & HideBeltToRight and I don't have to tell you that you can hide the unwanted material zones of the red coat.
In my country this type of belt is not popular. We use the yellow or orange fluor vests. Genesis would then look like he shows on the right.
Yes I have and thanks for the reminder :lol:
I do remember those vests well; I lived in London for 2 years when I went to film school and enjoyed the experience muchly :cheese:
Has anybody seen any objects (poser or DS format) with organic-looking webbing similar to the attached pictures? One picture is a photomicrograph of bone, the other is a painting of chewing gum stuck to a shoe.
The actual material isn't important, I would likely be changing the material anyway.
Do you want the Stretched Adhesions of gum, or the Omnidirectional Lattice of the bone? They'd be very different geometries to make.

The gum is somewhat closer to what I was envisioning in terms of overall shape (stuck to opposite ends of two opposite surfaces, wider at the base and top and narrower in the middle with a mix of holes and strands), although it doesn't have as many holes within it as I was hoping for. The bone has lots of holes, but it's a little too evenly spaced in all directions and lacks the feel of being stuck to anything. (I'm thinking alien growths or deposits here.) However, there may not be a lot of options to choose from, and the picture in my mind is still a little hazy, so I could probably work with a variety of things. Doubtless one could elongate the object in one direction to string it out, or stack a row of them side by side at slightly different angles and sizes to make a simpler object into a more complex network.
Sean,
These artists might have something you can use. Most are in obj format

I used organic, abstract, web as my search criteria
Thanks! It looks like the obj imported pretty well into DS on these. They are somewhat geometrically shaped and more outer shells, but maybe with a bit of deforming and multiple objects I can work them closer to the shape I want.
I downloaded a “Chevy Coupe 37” quite a few years back. Lost it in a computer crash last year and haven’t been able to find it since. Does anybody know where I might find it again? I’ve looked through most of the bigger free model sites plus quite a few smaller ones to no avail. Thanks to anybody who can help me with this.
Jeremy
PS. Chole, I mistakenly posted this request as a separate new separate post but cannot delete it. Could you? Would you? Thanks!
Hi Jeremy, of course I can. And BTW, if you pop over the the Art Studio forum you will find a thread full of petrol heads who may be able to help you. ALso have you looked through Rob's associated list. http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/623/
Back to the freebie requests. Is there a Welsh Corgi out there anywhere? (MilDog doesn't have a Corgi morph, at least not one I've been able to find.) At this point, I'll take a prop...

Rob I found this one you have to have meshmixer? but it is free:

Thanks, dollygirl!
I didn't know about meshmixer, but I see it's free, imports STL and PLY files, and exports to OBJ - so we have another tool in the Freebie Challenge toolbox and a wider range of models to use!
Not exactly what you're looking for, but until you find a better one....
Tjeb, this is a great old car I am also interested in. I assume this is a freebie, if so, do you have a link?
Thank you in advance. :)
Yes it's a freebie, but it comes as a hotrod.
I deleted the engine and now there is this annoying crease in the hood.
There are also some annoying creases in the doors I have not been able to solve yet.
I do this in Blender as a sort of training, but I'm not a modeler.
And haven't found proper wheels yet. You want old fashioned spoke wheels or normal (old) ones?
Ive DL'd a set of "shaders" if you will, many moons ago. Ive relocated, and left my desktop with those "shaders" on them. Anyway, alot of those sites I used to frequent, are no longer in existence. In this pack of "shaders" it included some for olive skin tones, alien skin tones and African American. It was soooo great. Can anybody help me find it?
Also these are some other items Im looking for:
A poodle skirt, specifically The Rok n Rol poodle skirt by Sanbie, but if not any poodle skirt will do.
and cars that were either made in 3ds or some other high(er) end CAD programs. some of the car parts were in French, and the site had great models. The one Im looking for is 57 Chevy Bel Air Hardtop.
And fits for Headkase's bossy boots and sensible shoes.
any information will be greatly appreciated!
You are referring to this site: (except for the .3ds part; they are all .lwo)

YES!!! thanks a bunch!!!!!
Dear Tjeb,
Are you going to release this model when finished, well this is the way it sound above!?
I personally prefer old fashioned spoke wheels as I want to use such a car in more vintage renders than modern trends. Vintage cars are more scarce especially as freebies as I can't afford the pay models as pensioner. If you are going to release this, it will be great! :)
Thanks in advance.

@launok:
yeah, you can have the chevy, but for today I messed up. I'm stuck for the moment.
It's hard to close the gaps.

IDK how I overlooked them. SMH at myself. thanks!
Looks like there's some overlapping/intersecting mesh too.
To close gaps like that in Hexagon, one can select a line, do an extraction from said line, weld it then to where you want it. Then weld the extra line over to where the weld was made. Have no idea if that concept works in all modelers but it's how to do it with Hexie.
Thanks, Tjeb, and you other folks who responded. This is definitely a car that I would like to have so will probably add it to the collection. Not sure what make it is; perhaps, a Chrysler brand?
Chole, it wasn't in the list you suggested but I have gone to folks that you suggested in that other forum.
Anyway, thank you to everybody. This is definitely one of the most helpful places at Freepository.
Jeremy
We're getting there, but slowly...
From left to right you can see improvements.
There is still an issue in the door; you see the diagonal line;
Wow, this looks great ... will definitely look out for this vintage model when ready! :)
If accuracy is what you want, tjeb, then it probably wouldn't have spokes--although I don't object to having such, I would prefer it without simply because it is a late 1930s model and likely didn't come with spoked wheel covers.
It's looking very good. Like what you are doing.
Jeremy
Tjeb, a clarification . What I'm trying to say is that I suspect that the original was equipped with Hub cabs not spokes.

these look great! All I need is a hat and a tommy gun so I can hang out the window and yell "Eat lead you doity rats!"
