Use your favorite Genesis 3 Male Hair without limitations on your Genesis 8 Males! Automatically convert almost your entire library of Hair items using the new Hair Converter from Genesis 3 Male to Genesis 8 Male! The Hair Converter scripts provide batch execution for automatically converting, including morphs and rigging, your Genesis 3 Male Hair to Genesis 8 Male Hair in your library. Easily select the hair items in your library, select an output directory, and execute the script. Even better, icons and categories are copied from your original Genesis 3 Male hair to the new Genesis 8 Male hair items.

Your new Genesis 8 Male hair is completely Smart Content aware! They will show up when you select a Genesis 8 Male. Plus, all materials shown in Smart Content for your Genesis 3 Male item will show for your converted Genesis 8 Male item.

The Hair Converter script does not work with wearables (e.g., multi-pair hair). Items without metadata can be converted but will not show up in Smart Content. They may also need to be converted using a Force Convert Item(s) button.

  • Convert Genesis 3 Hair for use by Genesis 8 characters.
  • Keep the rigging of your beautiful, long Genesis 3 Hair for use by Genesis 8 characters.
  • Copies icons from Genesis 3 hair to Genesis 8 hair for a professional look.
  • Converted Hair is Smart Content enabled! All materials shown in Smart Content for your Genesis 3 item will show for your converted Genesis 8 item.
  • Automatically convert your entire library of hair with one operation!

Does it just skip over hair that already has a G8M version, or do we have to deselect them? I'm thinking AprilYSH hair usually comes with both versions.

All the converters I've seen so far includes that option already. I can't see why this would be any different.

It *tries* to not add them (if you have the Ignore Daz Bought Files checked) by trying to find a similarly named file in the G8M directory.   However, it may not detect all of them.

The hair converters include the new and improved algorithm which is better at finding matches.

    Even better :)

I have the Female converter, and it worked a treat-- Although id *did* replicate Ellisea hair. Following the instructions and *not* just cutting it loose in the G8F Hair directory directly saved me having to reinstall it.

Not that I think it would have been a problem, funnily enough. The refit G3F went right on with no fuss and no muss.

(I still deleted it from the converted directory, though).

Thanks RiverSoftArt :-) I have the G3M to G8M clothes convertor but haven't used it yet (the thought of catagorising all that clothes again) but I have a week off in a couple of weeks time when I going to make a start. So I haven't tried any of the convertors yet.

It isn't necessarily a problem to have the duplicate, but why would you want it? smiley The script tries (and is better) but still some will get through.

I'm going to buy this, because I like the product. You do great work! But I would wonder why you have to have different versions for G3-G8 male and female versions. Thanks!

Thanks!  A few reasons... the code becomes too complex supporting multiple versions (and correspondingly harder to debug problems)... I am using the Hair Converter G3F->G8F as the guinea pig to fix issues and/or add features, making the G3M->G8M better (and actually I am retrofitting the detect already bought Daz items into the clothing converters, so it makes everything better smiley) ... and it lets you choose what you want to buy; if I combined them I would need to charge more to recoup the many, many hours put into this and there are some customers who don't want the male version (or the female version)

I'm so glad someone else went there first. :)  That being said...

How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if it was the DAZ Woodchuck 8?

    And, most importantly...

    Are we there yet?
