Well it's definately giving a hand up to making your renders look like you actually painted with pastels or watercolors or whatever vs being computer rendered. They look nice!

You're right. Actually not so interesting on background. It's why I'm testing a lot to find the "best" style (for my projects) without having to change anything for the most pictures or a few changes only.

For example here, I only have to modify one value between the Chest and Father Christmas. (I always use the same 3D Daz renders to better see the different effects.)

Yesterday I saw nice 2D graphics on TV and I have decided to work in this direction.

Here are my first results. First I need nice Cartoon Daz renders (below) but if I like the 3D renders a lot, now I prefer them with this kind of style.

Before I dind't like a lot to add postwork but why not when I see these cool results... and without pain because it's automatic.

Now , I can see, why it does not work for me - one needs to have a toon render image, as the base, for processing in PhotoDonut 2.

It seems better on Cartoon renders because of the lighting (?), I think.

That would probably if printed in a typical real-life book wind up looking most like what it looks like on your screen I think.

It's interesting to test a lot of styles depending on the objective and the audience. For example children will love some renders and adults other ones. And for books some renders will be great and other ones not.

Some styles will be nice on characters and objects but not on landscapes, and so on... Not so easy ! 

As you can see below the first picture could be attractive for children. The other ones, with a more painting effect, are interesting but not really for children books I think. Even if it would be great to offer different books to children with a more "artistic" style. But are they ready to this in our modern world ???

Could you point me toward the category to look for the Liquid Painting style? It doesn't seem to come up in the style shop search, and I'm really loving the effects you're getting.

I was also wondering how large your initial images are. I've tried a good dozen or so of the filters I've found in Photo Donut and my images all come out muddy and blurry, with all the details eliminated.

Strange !?! It works for me when I search 'Liquid' in the Style Categories. Its' an included style I think because we can see the head of the blond woman !?!

Usually I use 800 x 800 pictures but it works fine with other resolutions as you can see above or below...

I have tested my "Photo Donut" renders in "Corel Painter Essentials 4" for an interesting colored pencil effect working then better than on a normal 3D render. You can compare the both Alien pictures below :
