Vase - Japanese style ...

It came across my path, an image for a vase that apparently is of Japanese styling. I'm not an expert in these matters ... but do recall that some lovely Japanese outfits were recently released and so thought people might be interested in a bonus.

Should be super easy to make [famous last words I know] .... so if anybody is in here ... here we go.

Open Hexagon ... find the Lines tab and make a U ... thicken it ... put 4 stick lines along the bottom for feet/legs ... thicken them. uvmap. Flatten uvmap. Make shading domains. Clear the materials mess. Export out. Close Hexagon. Open Hexagon, import in same .obj. Make sure that there's no extra default material. Export out very clean .obj file.
Open D/S, import in said vase, make prop.
Done.

That's the idea ... now will go and see how it works out.

Anybody dropping by ... feel free to chirp in and make one too.

And pictures! Everybody likes to see pictures.

Not very busy in here tonight lol ... hope everybody's remembered to fill their food cupboards before hitting the sales!

Some pictures ... if you start with a text letter, remember to 'ungroup' it first ... works better that way ;-)

I thought I would take the dust covers of Hexagon and have a quick play.

I should of searched for an image to get scale better, but made a (not very good) guess instead lol.

Decided to make from grid, add holes, bend, then add legs with sweep.

Yes it is a decent modeling program ... doesn't do all things very efficiently shall we say ... uvmapping does take some patience ... many use UVMapper. [free or pro] It is very easy though to "just slap on" any uvmap ... D/S has lots of shaders now BUT everybody, you will get better results even with shaders if the uvmap is done properly.
