Blank slate loading smart content

so i closed everything off, and now I am not sure where to begin.

How do i get my actors and smart content.  I have been clicking around and watching a few youtube videos but its not really explained as it all assumes

your starting with certain things pre-loaded .

Window>Workspace>Select Layout will let you restore to one of the existing layouts, or you can use Window>Panes(Tabs) to open individual panes (you can then drag by the top bar to dock), and you can use Window>Workspace>Customise to enable tool bars by right-click in the Activities tab on the right.
