sorry if this is a stupid question but how can change the size and ratio of the production box ? I have bought carrara scenes and the production box is in a portrait format , if i drag the corner it just scales the whole thing , where as what i would like to do is just make it wider , but I cant seem to see how to do that. Many thanks if anybody can enlighten me

Go to the render room and click on the output tab top right.
If you uncheck the "keep proportions" box you can adjust the ratio in the layout room as well as in the output tab.

does changing the dimensions of the output change the production box when you go back to look at the assemble tab?

There is actually another trick to it.

In the assembly room, switch to the camera view you want.

Then, select the same camera in your list of objects.

At this point, you can now grab the corners of the production frame and change it as you like.

But to change the aspect using your method (which is also what I do), the Keep Proportions checkbox in the Render room needs to be unchecked, as Stu mentioned.

To the OP: anything visible inside the outline of the production frame is going to be rendered. If it's outside the production frame outline it won't be.

Yes. If the aspect is changed. Let's say it's portrait, uncheck the Keep Proportions checkbox, then enter the height dimensions in the space for the width, and then enter the original width dimensions in the height field and then go to the Assembly room. The production frame will have changed from a portrait perspective, to a landscape perspective.

When you drag the production frame corners, the Width of your render will keep its value, and the height will adjust accordingly.
