@Wonderland: I am really loving the hair! Is it corporate hair?

@ L'Adair: very nice, especially the lycan. There are a few combinations that I like more than the original, for sure.

It was Pop Cut Hair https://www.daz3d.com/pop-cut-hair-for-genesis-3-and-8-females

    Oh dear.

This hasn't hit the news yet.  A patient at a local hospital here was diagnosed with the flu. But it wasn't.  It was that coronavirus. So 40 people came in to extremely close contact, including two pulmonologists. The owner of the stables is a surgeon and was interviewed today, you know, as they do the "who did you come into contact with?" feelers out in the community.   This of course means if that person did spread the virus, ALL of those at the hospital area, PLUS all the pulmonologists' patients are at risk. (And we're talking for the past week or MORE.)  Unfortunately, you know what the main complications are from this virus- sadly it's pulmonary- pneumonia / lung issues. So we're really hoping those pulmonologists don't have the virus. It's THE worst case scenario so far as susceptible people getting exposed.

So I'm waiting to see how long before this hits the news, that person is a "presumptive positive" so it may take a day or two to be affirmed. We're hoping it's negative but the symptoms are really strong. And no, I haven't been out to the barn in three weeks, both the surgeon and his wife have had the flu (he brought it home to her.)  I said, "No offense, but I'm steering clear of you," and she laughed (well, croaked into the phone) and said she would do the same thing if she were me. She's over it as of last week, but I'm still avoiding people.

Sadly a Marine in Virginia has just come down with it so hope it doesn't spread here on the East Coast in the military. Several military have it overseas already.

In LA, it's like a sci-fi movie. There hasn't been hand sanitizer or Lysol in stores for weeks, toilet paper and water bottles are sold out at several places... A 500 seat movie theater had 10 people in it on a Friday night (and I sat in a separate empty row from my friend after I heard him coughing.) The funny thing was in the women's restroom when every woman at the three sinks next to me and I all washed our hands for exactly 20 seconds in sync. I almost burst out laughing, although it's not funny. Apparently one quarter of Italy already has it! This is truly scary!

@alex86fire  Someone mentioned in the other thread that you have to add the smoothing option because for some reason it doesn't have it applied.  It did help I had to change the settings a little.

Well, no... A quarter of Italy has been quarantined. Italy has a total of around 6000 cases at the moment.

I think I had it back in mid January for a couple of weeks. Caught it after being 'good' and getting a 'cluster flu shot' and a 'hepatis A shot' like they say we should. Well I also was already into immunotherapy shots just started at an allergy clinic against being allergic to practically to every tree and grass pollen out there as well as about every mold spore and lo and behold everyone at that allergy clinic was hacking away that week when I went for my immunotherapy shots. I was so like I hope I don't catch what they have but I did catch what they have.

Pretty obvious that coronavirus hasn't spread that rapidly from central China that quickly. Viruses must be a bit like cicadas and already be widespread for the most part only activate when conditions are right. That's not to said they weren't spread here from there earlier over many years. My yard isn't plagued by insects from the Far East for no reason.

    Wow, great, thanks!

Insane what difference can a smoothing modifier make.

I tested a lot of poses on Mr Woo again after that and on Dain8 and they all look good after the smoothing modifier.

    I'm relieved.

@Novica, I saw the map of coronovirus cases yesterday and immediately was worried for you and your family, especially your mother. Has her care facility set up controls to protect their guests/patients from anyone coming into visit that might be a carrier or a staff member who maybe sick, but just thinking it is 'just a cold' or 'hayfever' and infecting the elderly?

Regarding the Iron Wasp Outfit, when I first attempted to use it on Nicholas it also split under the shoulders but also in the crotch. As others have noted, no adjustments there. But I tried it again on Gordan, totally different pose, and didn't see any issues I had to deal with. I think that was pure, dumb luck. But when I get my render computers up, I am going to load it and look at the settings the others noted in Serene Nights' thread.

While the male bundles seem to have an extremely high number of issues, along with individual male items, I have been finding female products also getting out for sale that have problems. Like a female character with no eye materials. The fix just came in this past week. Or products with half of the items not showing up, until you run a metadata update. I try to test every product I buy within a few days of purchase, but CS is so far behind, they were getting to reports after a month, month and a half, now down to three weeks. But I still have some from early last year open.

(Edited because I can't type! Fingers dried out from washing hands too much.)

It's different. This is a different hospital and happened just last night. :(  And in another county.

    Wow, that looks terrible.

I decided to try a few other characters (smaller ones mostly) to see how the suit holds.

Wow, that's no small poke through, either. Thanks for showing on those other characters.

Over in the sale thread, folks were talking about the buy two newly mad releases to get 20% off the next character. I thought to myself, "Huh. It better not be Genesis 9"  because it's a lousy marketing strategy to not tell us what the next character IS. I bought two things, but not ultra thrilled with that approach.  We don't even know whent the character is coming!

That marketing trick doesn't appeal to me either, but for the first time in ages, there are multiple new releases today I like without any incentive.

What did you end up buying ?

I couldn't even find one item that interested me. Any other 2 days since this started and there would have been more interesting items for me but this weekend the items were meh.

This just shows how different tastes are :). As stated above I can't even find one item to be interested in.

Okay, so just got it clarified. That is the person who died BUT by the time he went to that hospital they suspected he had the virus. The problem is he was at another hospital FIVE DAYS without being isolated and that's where he exposed forty or more people. Fortunately the barn owner's husband had not interacted at all with that hospital recently or those pulmonologists. Thank goodness!

I went with the Sleeping Shirt and ATT Buggy Vehicle. The vehicle is well made and there's several areas for people to be in or on it. Today, if I were choosing two, I would go with the cables and the sneakers. Those sneakers ROCK with details. Slide3D always has great footwear. The cables have a lot of morphs according to the description and that could be fun.

    FG Sleeping Shirt 67593 1 $6.73
    A-Frame Cabin 67055 1 $1.88
    ATT Buggy Vehicle 67673 1 $11.22

For me the sleeping shirt looks like any t-shirt, just a little longer. Maybe it has some awesome rigging and morphs that I don't understand but I just don't see it.

The buggies all look awesome. Very well made. If I were going to do post-apocalyptic or distopian renders any time soon I would have jumped on that.

From today, the sneakers do look great and have a lot of detail but how many people are really focusing on the feet in their renders? I feel for the distance shots that I have including feet I don't need such a refined, specialized product. And cables, while at first I thought are great, I realized I don't see myself doing renders with that much detail put into the any time soon. And if I need a cord in one situation, that is something I could easily do in Blender, even in good detail. I would have a problem with rigging it to suit every need, but to suit my render, that would be easy enough.

I guess I'm hoping now that either they do at some point another offer that can give this 20% to the rest of us or, if not, that the bundle is not something I'm interested in.

The "buy something today for a discount on a pro bundle in the future" is nothing new, though I haven't seen it in a while, maybe more than a year. Maybe Daz is trying to include folks who don't have enough G8 bundles to get the purple banner.

Yesterday, I bought the bedroom and the sleep shirt, (and the bonus item, of course.) Nothing else appealed to me. Be forwarned about that bedroom set. I loaded just the bed last night. I was pleased to see the quilt and decorative pillows are separate objects. But I was astounded by the polycount of four surfaces for the bed. The "cover", essentially a light blanket, is over 60K polycount. So is the wood frame of the bed. A closer look at the "cover" reveals it has both front and back. This could work really well for dForce, but it's not a separate object. On the other hand, with all those polys, this set will work really well with dFormers or Mesh Grabber. I was disappointed to find there were no morphs for the bed, though. I will have to take a closer look at this set, but at the moment, I wouldn't recommend any of the props as background objects, based on the polycount of the bed.

In my cart today is the set of cables from Maclean. I positively love his Everyday sets. And to finally have cables to add that touch of realism to my images is going to be such a time saver. I've spent hours, (days, even,) trying to get the cord from one product to play nice with the lamp from another. InstaEdit is an Insta-buy. I can't begin to count the number of times I've created a dozen instances and later wanted to convert just one to an object so I could make changes to it. If I use nothing else, this product will be worth many times what I'm going to pay for it. Then last, but not least, the sneakers. Lace up shoes without the bow is one of my pet-peeves. Add the fact these are for the fellas, and I couldn't resist.

    To recap:

    Everyday Cables 67723 $7.63 55%
    InstaEdit 67753 $8.52 55%
    S3D Casual Sneakers for Genesis 8 Male(s) 67723 $6.74 55%

Now the only question remaining is whether two qualifying purchases, one each day, means the extra 20% off twice. (I'm going with "No!" but I wouldn't mind being wrong.)

The awkward positioning of that bed against the window in the scene (and not even centered on the window) bothered my about that product. Thanks for the warning on other issues. It is always good to have extra info on a product from people who have tried it.

They have to be Still New when you buy them, but yes as I udnerstand it if you bought one of the Still New yesterday and oen of the Still New today that would work.

They have to be Still New when you buy them, but yes as I udnerstand it if you bought one of the Still New yesterday and oen of the Still New today that would work.

Oh, I didn't buy anything yesterday. And there's really nothing I want today. I hate this marketing strategy... We have no idea what the bundle is and not sure if mathematically it even makes sense to get two things I don't need...

International Women's Day. my mom was a women too! She was accomplished, college-educated and in the 40's and 50's that wasn't something that most men liked. But, there she was. A traveler and education of sorts for us kids as we learned many fine things about the arts and life.

WHOA FOLKS. It has to be NEWLY MAD not Still New (aka you can't buy yesterday's now. That is the "Still New" now- and doesn't qualify according to this:)

or buy any 2 or more Newly Mad to get an EXTRA 20% OFF* our next Character Pro Bundle Release

So I bought 2 new things I didn't need totalling $15.00. I hope the discount comes out to more than that and is a bundle I actually want. I REALLY hate this marketing strategy!

The bundle would have to cost $75 for you to recoup your $15. To come out ahead, the bundle would have to cost more than $75. Depending on whether they give you 20% on addons or just the bundle itself, you could easily end up in the red, I think. (Based on the interpretation that you paid $15 for unwanted items worth $0 to you.)

Well, I'll test out the items I got to see if I'd ever really use them. I got the instance thing and I rarely use instances, I think I used instances once for just two or three extra copies of something and when I wanted it to look different I just added a copy rather than an instance. Both products I got are usable, but just not something I really need. If I don't get the bundle, or if the items aren't worth it, I can return them I guess.

Well, it pays to keep checking in. I read on the Sales thread about the flash sale build your own bundle, otherwise, I wouldn't have known. (I'm out walking, just finished 4 1/2 miles. Not done, but came in to check the site.)   Went for the featured stores (buy 2 get 50%, then 50% off that for the flash sale.) Here's before and after the discount. I only did Polish bundles, maximized the selection to get a lot of products! (I have been waiting on that Mafia bundle forever!)

LOL I had rushed to shop when I heard the build your own bundle sale was a Flash sale, so I went back to the sales thread just now. Apparently @wonderland had already explored and bought Polish bundles before I got there!  I did read where someone else was having trouble with some of them, but I didn't have any trouble with the ones above. (And perhaps that person had more than four in the cart.)  And no, you can't use it more than once, I tried, and so did someone else. Darn it.
