[Released] Now-Crowd Billboards - Fight [Commercial]

RiverSoft ArtRiverSoft Art Posts: 6,578

Fight!!! Where?!? That is up to you! Whether you need a bar fight, street riot, or just a brawl in the mall, the Now-Crowd Billboards - Fight will fill your action scenes FULL of men and women punching, kicking, throwing, blocking and more in high quality, flexible and easy to use billboards... perfect as a backdrop for the main action that you add!

Billboards are a fantastically quick and resource easy way to add background crowds to your scenes. These pre-rendered elements are great to play the background characters in your scene.  Unlike traditional Billboard products, the Now-Crowd Billboards improve on standard billboards by providing 72 different views for each billboard figure. You can view each figure from 12 different horizontal angles and 6 different vertical angles. When your camera moves, the Now-Crowd Billboards can even be changed to match!

There are also great scripts to make these billboards easy to use! There is one script to turn the billboards to face the camera and another script to change billboard figure angle based on horizontal and vertical orientation. Finally, there is a script that pushes your billboard directly away from your camera view or pulls it towards you.

For Iray and 3Delight

No figures are included with this product.

No other products are needed to use the Now-Crowd Billboards - Fight

Note that Now-Crowd Billboard products are large (10GB+) because of the many textures (72 images per figure x number of figures) and can take a while to download.  However, in your scenes they are extremely resource light with just one image per figure.

I like this. Your work is very fine. I do a lot of wrestling and boxing scenes. The opponents are usually in a ring. What I'd like are figures who are watchers and enthusiasts or critics. Some standing, some sittng on chairs, etc. Think you might come up with billboards for that?

Also, I notice that the names of the figures in the list don't quite correspond with the names in the attachments. For example, I find Man Kicking 1, Man Kicking 2 in the attachments, but not in the list.

I have mentioned this before.  For a crowd in the stands type of thing, I need WAY more than 30-35 figures.  It is a challenge I am still trying to overcome.

(Good catch on the text.  That was a copy and paste error)

Multiple packs of thirty figures? Start with basic sitting poses in the first pack, see how well that sells, then add more packs?

I would imagine contemporary, 'normal' people would sell best... which is what I would buy. I like to do renders of most genre: sci-fi, Steampunk, fantasy, etc, but mostly I render contemporary scenes, which usually involve lots of characters, while the other scenes rarely need more than four or five characters. Other people may have different ideas, of course.

That might work, though sitting billboards are some of the hardest to use.

I have some of your existing sitting billboards, and yes, they take a little longer to position, but that's still easier than any alternatives when you need a crowd. The final decision regarding how worthwhile the project is has to be up to you, of course. I'm just a single customer should you make it happen; and if it doesn't happen, we just compromise with other tricks, as we do now smiley

We all do what we can. smiley  I want to make it happen for you, for others, and for myself.  I just want it to be the best it can be.

Well, it doesn't have to be a large crowd. Some wrestling exhibitions or contests or clubs have very few audience members. I would be happy with some diverse characters and 30-35 figures. Also, they don't have to be all sitting characters. Some could be standing near the ring, cheering, booing, raising their hands, etc. I wasn't imagining the WWE or some gigantic "Pro" wrestling entertainment.

    +1

For larger crowds, they're going to be at more distance, so strategic mixing of figures in a non-repetitive pattern and a little DOF sorts out that problem. Closer to and you're not getting that many figures in anyway. 30-35 would be plenty for my needs.

    Groovy,

well this one is on the wishlist (as are most of the others (if only I had the money!)) but I just picked up the Fantasy Life set while your store's on sale :)
You're not kidding about the size of the downloads (but hey, that's just once - render time saved will be great).

This is not only going to save me render time, but also allow me to do the kind of crowded scenes I  wouldn't have had the patience for before.

Love the easy scripting too yesyes

Wasn't sure whether to post this in this thread or necro the Fantasy Life one but I guess it's all on-topic smiley

This is still a bit of a work in progress but I'm liking the results - going for a bustling market street and using the billboards makes it so easy to set up yes Got just 4 non-Now-Crowd figures in here (one instanced so making 5) and using a few of the Now-Crowd ones twice (which thanks to the different angle options you'd have to hunt for to notice).

Now I just need Fantasy Life II and/or Medieval City life and it'll be perfect (have to wait for a sale though).

Will post it in the gallery when it's finalised smiley

    (opinions welcome as always)

Edit: And while I'm thinking about it - (and I know you've got more ideas than time but hey, doesn't hurt to ask) - how about a sailors/pirates set? I've got all these nice ships but no way to crew them. Could have someone in the crow's nest, captain with a long-glass, sailors coiling rope, someone at the wheel, swabbing the deck, carrying cargo, repelling borders, etc etc.

Oh yeah!! Those guys on the ship are billboards? They look great. (you'd need those 'from lower down' angles for many of those (climbing the rigging, crow's nest) as well as the 'from higher up' ones - would that be a lot more work?)

Yup (except for the captain).  To make angles from lower down it is not so much more work as WAY MORE SPACE.  People already balk at the size of the downloads.  If the size almost doubled, I think I would have a mutiny (ironic for a sailors set smiley)

I'll defend ye captain!  Yeah, the DL size is big - but we save so much time setting up the scene and rendering - see what you think works / is worth it, I guess.
