New User's Contest - December 2013

Are you new to the 3D World? Are you at the beginning stages of learning 3D rendering? Have you been around for a little bit but feel you could benefit from some feedback or instruction? Have you been around awhile and would like to help other members start their creative journey? Well then come and join the fun as we host our newest contest...

"Seasons Celebrations"

This month’s contest is about how you celebrate this time of year be it with friends and family or just how you enjoy the season. Does the Season bring images of snow and fur trees to mind for you? Twinkling lights and tinsel? A warm fireplace and a favorite book? How about a Warm Beach a setting sun and a silly elf hat? As long as its a Seasonal Celebration to you we want to see it.

Objective: To make Festive Card showing what this time of year means to you. We want to see your version of a Card that you think says it is the season. Here is the catch, we wish you to do both the COVER of the card and the INSIDE of the Card. That's right, you can have up to two renders this time. How you do the two is up to you. Two pictures, a Cover and a Poem, a Cover and a border, a cover and a silly saying, they all work as long as you follow the THEME in both.

*If you decide to add text, poem, etc they may be done in your favorite 2D Program and do not need to be rendered.

We will be looking at creativity, composition and the over all theme as presented.

When working on your submissions, if you would like to get feedback as you work or before posting your final image, please post your image to the WIP THREAD . People will be popping in to the WIP THREAD to give you some critique and advice on your entry and help along the way. Please keep all comments on entries etc to the WIP THREAD as well because comments or requests for help/feedback/advice will be removed from the contest thread and merged into the WIP THREAD . This thread is only for posting final contest submissions.

For those veterans of the forums that would like to help, because this contest is designed for the beginner to learn from, we will be randomly selecting posts offering helpful tips and/or critiques to receive a special voucher as well so whether you are a seasoned artist or an aspiring one, there is fun for everyone!

Closing Date: December 31th 2013.

    Here is my entry.
    The card is made with Bryce and for the inside I applied a watercolor frame on the image and added the text.

    Final version. Done in DAZ Studio 4.6. Bit of post work in Photoshop, lettering added in PagePlus. Title - "Cosy Fireside Christmas Card".
