Adding new objects

If I have moved my scene in directors view into the distance and want to add an object, is there a convenient way to have the new object join the scene. I have tried the "centering" align tool, but it moves both objects. I want to have the new object join the established ones. Thanks in advance.

You can use the Tab key to highlight (select) the objects on the screen one at a time. You can also hold down the Ctrl key and click on an object, or part of an object, to select it.

Select the distant object and click [A]ttributes.

Under the General tab, click "Locked". Tick. DO NOT DESELECT.

Shift-select the object you want to move to your locked object. So now you should have both objects selected.

Click the centering tool. Done - Item moved.

While both are selected, you may wish to click [A]ttributes again and click "Locked" until this button is clear.

    You're welcome.
