combining 2 models: LionTaur

Hello everybody,

I saw a picture a while back on deviant art of a Lion Taur (upper human torso and lower body Lion) and I wanted to try and mimic that in daz3d.  Im using a sharecg figure based of M4/freak4 body and the Daz Big cat 2 (lion). I'll post the link to the free vincent model at end of this post if you'd like to download it. It's Vincent from the 1990s T.V. Beauty and the beast.

I initially loaded in both models, overlapped them to line them up and hid what parts I could (human legs/Lion head). I'm currently stumped as to what to do next. I'd like where they connect to be smoother (or merged) there's currently a huge hole from the hidden head. I've tried moving the neck around so it lines up with the body but that's the best I can do at moment.  I'm not sure what terminology to use for these questions, please feel free to correct.

things I'd like to do:

-Make the connections smoother between the two models. I know daz centaur 7 SKU:37317 has some kind of "additive preset" of the base figure to be attached to the horse torso. Is that something I can do?

-Blend the colors so they match reasonably or cover the seam up somehow

-Is there a way to attach/connect the human torso so when posing either half they will stay attached to each other?

I'm not really sure what other questions i should be asking while tweeking this process.  I've posted a few snap shots of the tweeks I attempted.

A current daz tutorial would be really really really appreciated as I'm a daz cassual user but Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thank you all for your time and replies.

I am really liking this idea of the Lion Taur!

I am going to follow this thread and maybe you can give me some tips on how to do this for myself!laughwink

If you parent the human figure to the neck bone of the lion, that should keep them more-or-less in place. A fast-and-dirty way to cover the join would be to do two renders, one with lion and man, but with the fur going higher up the torso than where you want the join to be, the other with just the man. Then combine them in post to eliminate the join.

Making a morph to make a smooth junction would be better, but beyond my skills at the moment.

What a funny coincidence. I just experimented with kitbashing yesterday to make a centaur, and was going to post a thread just like this.

If you check here Hemi-426 made morphs for the DAZ  MilBigCat and V4 but you could use it with other figures ,and his other centuar morphs for the Milhorse and Charger  are there too.

That's an interesting Idea! I do have the bundle in my favorites. I just wish it had gone on sale during the big Christmas loyalty discounts cheeky  It's a quick fix. I'd have to adjust each time I changed the pose. I want something permanent for the community! I really appreciate you reaching out with this idea! Because there's so much clothing that no matter how hard I try to tweak there's always spots I can never clear out and it drives me nuts this is perfect for that!

I had looked into getting a commission done for a "bridge" by a 3d artist which I posted here Go fund me, May I post one for a commisioned project for community? and one of the Daz community artists Catherine3678ab was gracious enough to make a Geograft for Daz Big cat 2 and posted it here https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/463621/lionman-geograft-for-g8m for those who have been waiting for this! Please make sure to thank Catherine!
