Centaur Maxx for Genesis 8 Male Centaur

DETAILS

Transform Maxx into an imposing mythological creature with this set of detailed HD morphs, fibermesh add-ons and photorealistic textures, including a smoother transition from human to animal.

The included shape and HD details will make the perfect companion to the big frame of Maxx.

Includes the HD shape (separate base and details), multiple fibermesh items (including two feathering styles), a new set of tattoos for the custom layered shader, separate body and face war paint presets and a bonus fantasy ear morph.

For a complete list of what this set comes with, please read the Feature list.

WITH AND WITHOUT MAXX

While the product is made specifically for Maxx HD, it will work on other characters with certain limitations:

On other characters:

  • The HD Shape (a bonus scale morph is included to adjust the proportions to your character)
  • The textures
  • All fibermesh pieces
  • Default transition from human to horse

Maxx Exclusive:

  • The soft transition from human to horse
  • The war paint
  • The tattoos

In short, the horse section works on other characters and the human skin options are exclusive to Maxx

he look Awesome! I really can't pick him up now, or the any of the centaur things really. But I hope to be able to get him (and needed required products) at a catch up sale later in september :)

Can the tail and feather be used on DH2 (just the horse, not the centaur)? DH2 so desperately needs better hair options and I was hoping the centaur updates would have prompted that to drop too.

I already have Maxx (and Dolb...and pretty much everything else you put out, haha)...I'd just really love to be able to enhance my base DH2 as well.

I was pretty sure I was going to pass on the centaur at this time until I saw this. I already have Maxx and he is quite a character. I especially love the feathering on the fetlocks. A detail on draughthorses that I really appreciate. Great job!

I really LOVE your transition between the meeting of the horse and human! The other centaurs have almost a distinct cut off between the human and horse and that's a little disturbing to me.

If this doesn't fit other males (and perhaps females), if sales are good for you, perhaps you could make a pack that would work with the other breeds and hides?

This is the way I imagine a Centaur should look!

Yes, morphs are very good, but materials are outstanding. Triple wow from me.

The soft transition from human to horse is the best, I have seen so far.

First of all, thank you to Hellboy for making such a fantastic character with such attention to detail.  I've spent most of the afternoon experimenting and had a lot of fun doing so.

One issue - every time I load up a scene with Centaur Maxx, I have to re-apply the skin blend script.  For some reason it doesn't "stick" after saving and reloading.  Minor issue, and it's not a problem to do this, but I thought it might be worth mentioning for anyone who is having the same problem that they need to re-apply the script.

    This looks crazy good!

Is it possible to use this with only the feathering at the hooves, but not the fibermesh hair that covers the rest of the body? I think it might be too tough on my system.

This is one of my favourite characters of all time. Straight into my runtime the minute I saw it. Cheers Hellboy!

    Hylas, the feathering is separate

How does the "default transition" differ from the standard centaur? I don't have C8 yet, and since I own neither the Brute nor Maxx himself, and overwhelmingly render females, this will go a long way towards determining whether or not I pick up Centaur Maxx with my initial centaur purchase.

It doesn´t, it´s the one included with the Centaur 8 :)

Thought that might be the case. Unfortunately, I had to pass on this for the time being.

Thanks! It is possible, if I had more time, I would have made her too :)

I am not sure... I don´t even know if the DH2 is the exact same base for the Centaur. If it is, my bet is you would have to manually convert the item like when converting things between Genesis 3 and 8, you can follow SickleYield's tutorial as a reference. But I doubt they would work out of the box on the Horse.

Thanks! I wish I could be more helpful with that, I assume it is some kind of issue from the geograft and the texture of the torso being extended to the 1Coat during loading a scene. The centaur is a more complicated thing behind the scenes that it looks like. Other thing I can think of, is the script to blend the material settings after changing the torso settings is copying the whole torso material into 1Coat and then reaply the correct texture maps. It sounds as if the script was being applied at scene loading without copying the maps (but neither makes sense). Let me know if the issue keeps going and I´ll see if someone can take a look at what´s going on with that :)

Yeah, the base is the same, though the rigging is a bit different at the shoulder where the human figure's hips would be. I wish it were as simple as the conversion process for clothing/hair between G3 and G8...but it's not. I tried the transfer tool, and I tried inheriting the rigging from DH2, but I'm still doing something wrong. DH2 and Centaur 8 load in different places by default (C8 actually under the floor a bit) I'm assuming because of the height of the character. Not sure if that has anything to do with it.
