Would've liked to have seen this but didn't know about it and it's a very long drive from the RGV to East Texas

    Nice 4-6-4

    Cool

Mostly heritage, but we do have a lot of still running Stem trains.  Last year, just before Christmas, the Roayl Train came to Cardiff pulled by a Stem Loco  with The Prince of Wales on board

Yeah.. the UK has a ton more heritage rail than we do over here.. I awalys find it amusing watching UK rail videos on YouTube, and someone comments on a "long" UK intermodal train  - 30 cars.. Here we run them a bit longer -130 cars or more.. usually 12000-16000 HP in motive power..

We don't have the great wides spaces that you do in the US

In Wales they tend to be shorter than the ones in England,  as we have so many twisty turning roads and rail tracks to negotiate the hills and valleys.
I actually only have to travel a mile to pick up the nearest Steam train,  The Brecon Mountain Railway is a 1 ft 11 ³⁄₄ in narrow gauge tourist railway on the south side of the Brecon Beacons.  I live in the foothills of the Brecon Beacons

Oh aye, I know your geography limits things.. Seriously, though long trains have their own issues - passing amr holding sidings need to be huhge, and in sinlge track areas, scgheduling is a real pain if you have bi-directional traffic..
