Genesis to Genesis 3, or later...

When I began using DAZ Studio, Genesis has just become available.  I invested in it and loved using it.

Now Genesis 8 is out and I would like to get my custom character into the Genesis 8 format.

What I now have is my Genesis original migrated into Genesis 2, but I have little success getting into Genesis 3, for which a converter to Genesis 8 now exists.

Can anyone suggest how to get my Genesis character into GF8?

This character is central to my artwork and I want to get the physical characteristics of at least the face translated. I can deal with the body shape after that has succeeded.

    You can use GenX (available in store), with its various addons to get from Genesis to G3; a manual conversion is possible, or you can buy a new product to transfer from G3 to G8. You may or may not have issues as the new product doesn't deal with helper morphs that the original characters may have had, but there is another new product due that should deal with the helper morphs.

    I have GenX but had not been aware for any update that goes from Genesis to Genesis 3, but will look into that. I need to get to Genesis 3 to get to Genesis 8 with the product you mention and if I can get to GF3 then that is a path I will try.

    I am eager to know more about the last product you mention that is due out soon?

    With all the other conversion tools out there I am surprised that no one has made a converter from Genesis to Genesis (2, 3 or what ever number).  I know I would have purchased it and moved everything into Genesis 8 to take advantage of all the neat things it can do.

    P.S. Can anyone direct me to a good tutorial for using GenX?  It's been a while since I used it and any help on this would be appreciated.

    To transfer the morphs from G1 to G3F with GenX you'll need the base program and both the G2 and G3 add-ons

    For the textures, you'll need one of the "legacy UVs" products by Cayman Studios (depending on which UVs the textures use).

    Okay, I have successfully moved my GM1 character to GM2 but now want to move to  GM3.

    My understanding is that this is possible but I need some help with the process. Does anyone have a link to a tutorial that would get me there?

    I have all the Gen X addons.DAZ Version 4.23.0.1 Windows 11
