you need Carrara 8.5
the FBX does not work on other versions for importing iClone FBX
it will import or open the exported pipeline FBX animation files
you will need to add inverse kinectics to the bones if you wish to pose them yourself
choose animation inverse kinectics ball joint selecting the top bone in heirachy and all children
that top bone may then need ik removed under motion tab to transform it
you can make an animation group and save the motions as NLA clips that will work on other figures the same generation ie violet and Kane will use same bones, likewise Gwynn and Chuck but cannot go between.
facial animation imports too
can save those bones as NLA clips seperately too unticking others.
search NLA for more info

Daz poses and animations will not work on your figure unless exported with it from iClone after importing them via genesis etc

That is too cool to know! iClone5 just looks like a blast to play in for characters. Perhaps this will be the year I get it.
Dart will tell you plenty on animating FBX imports!!!!!!!

The importation of .fbx never worked for me, only the .pz2&3 and the .bvh function well…
I have not C8.5, is it better now ?
Check the info up a few posts. I guess in didn't really work right until 8.5, but Wendy would know much better than me
And why was there the option if that didn't work ?
Are there several kinds of .fbx?
