Fantasy RPG character renders -- PCs and NPCs

Having a lot of fun using Daz (alongside a little Photoshop and 3DSMax) to create depictions of PCs and NPCs for my fantasy campaign (D&D) world...

Some examples (so far) are attached... (ones without background/environs are still a work in progress)

Kor, bodyguard for hire, in the summer melt of his homeland, Kalrossa

(I feel like I need to add a few things, possibly a fortress in background, and possibly a shield)

Decided to add details to better represent the land of Kalrossa and the bodyguard/protector role of the character

I like your character work. Some is definitely as good or better than some of the promo work that goes up. You should put a link to your DeviantArt page in your signature. Keep it up!

Thanks! I'm actually super new to this... been a long time since I last used Daz, and even then I wasn't using it for purposes like this.
So... even though I sometimes look at art on DeviantArt, I do not have a page/profile (nor any sort of artist page/profile)... however, if I flesh out my fantasy world to the depth that it's looking like I am going to, I might start offering it to others via Kickstarter or Patreon or something, including a lot of this Daz artwork to illustrate the lands and people. (I am also creating game tokens from them, which could be used in systems like Roll20)

Another character: Alan the Grim, halfling pirate (along with Terry the Gray, he is one of the Seven Rogues of Crescent Bay)

Initial draft of fantasy scenes: Kiva, gnomish slaver, auctions off his new captive, Claudio, while half-ogre thug Gallagher stands guard

  • Their theory is that it's better to celebrate before the fight, just in case.

Nice! Is that a custom-made tavern or something that already exists?

It is Hog and Barrel Pub Interior  with a few props from other sets mixed in and custom lights. It is a wonderfull set, lots of areas to work with. I'm doing another near the fire place in the same set with the mage (Iria) and the beserker ( Mar'go).

  • Hi, you have made an impressive world. What engine you are using? Was there any issues due to high LODs of characters from Daz?

This is for a "tabletop" RPG, not a video game one (yes, these poly counts would totally not work for that!)... so these art handouts, player tokens, and general illustrations I have created to be used with Dungeons & Dragons 5e (in this case, played online via the Roll20 website/application)
