Even after all this time, he sometimes wondered whether that night at the crossroads had been a good idea...

    It looks great Tobias. The only thing that I noticed, and I am not sure how to fix it, is there should be soot residue on the bricks of the fireplace.

    Thank you! You''re right, soot would definitely add, it's these little details which count. I guess it's easy enough to add in postwork.

    Applying through postwork is what occurred to me but not until later. Not sure if you could apply some grunge textures if you didn't want to use postwork.

    Nice image. I too rendered an image with a blazing fireplace and thought about soot. Popped it over to Photoshop and used Burn on it which gave me some decent results.
