Daz Studio Surface Editor shows some fields as Why?
I made a shader preset in Shader Mixer. I found out I can edit the names/titles of the bricks to be something more user friendly, and I can also do the same thing in the Surface Editor. I can even do it by editing the duf file. This is all good!
But there is one thing I cannot figure out and that is some materials show up in the Surface Editor as when I view all the variables together. I am attaching some images with red boxes around the important parts. I have 2 colors called Color (Gold) and Color 2 that both eventually feed into the same mix brick (maybe that matters). The 2 colors show up fine on the left side of the Surface Editor but show up as one box on the right side with the word on the color. If I change the color there, it changes both Color (Gold) and Color 2. This is not user friendly. So, I am wondering if there is anything I can do about it.
Thanks for any help!

What are the two bricks outlined in red...you probably need to change the label from Out to match the name you gave the brick.
You did change the node titles, i.e. the path of the properties, but not the label of the properties. Easiest to do is by opening the property of the node (by clicking the small triangle) and then double-clicking on the label above the value input. That gives you the property editor where you can change the label to something unique (see illustration). Also possible in the properties tab of the shadermixer, but things are harder to find in that list.
By the way, even though it is called ShaderMixer, typically the goal is not to mix as many specular nodes as possible together. I would start with something simpler...
Thanks millighhost and mjc1016! Changing the label worked great. :)
