content search comes up blank after crash

Ain3DAin3D Posts: 30

So, DS 4.6 crashed. After that, it wouldn't start up again. After reinstalling it twice, it now starts and works fine, except that searching the content library comes up blank. Meaning, I can browse and load items fine, but I want to search for "sunglasses" nothing will come up when it should.

Help? :(

Is your CMS running? It may be that the database got corrupted in the crash.

It looks like the CMS is nonexistent. Meaning, it's not actually in the DAZ3D/DAZStudio4 64-bit/services folder. I'm running the Mac version.

This is a fresh install of DAZ...why wouldn't it be there?

THe CMS is installed not in the /Applications subtree but in either /Users/Shared, ~/Documents/DAZ 3D or even sometimes in /Library/Application Support, depending on which version of DS you started off with and how it was installed the first time.

If you have a fresh rebooted system you can find the CMS using the Activity Monitor.app ( In /Applications/Utilities ).
I guess when you had a crash the CMS either crashed too or for some reason the socket used by DS was locked so it couldnt connect again.

You should not have had to reinstall DS, a system boot or CMS startup would have fixed it.

The CMS installer is in the DIM package in /Applications/DAZ 3D/DIM, You can use that installer to find where the CMS is, run run it and it will prompt you with the last CMS path, and you can take it from there.
