AristocAristoc Posts: 254

i go this tan line plug in for share cg. I have installed it but I get stuck on #5. may there is a bit of language problem in the instructions but,

what does this mean:

"set the texture of head to diffuse of surface that starts by '1_'

do you know how to do that? not sure how to get past this point.

sorry i couldn't upload the tutorial pages in the proper orders.

thanks

In the OLDER content the Surfaces had Numbers like 1_ in front to show which group it was. It just means use the proper surface to place the texture on. That said I tried that Item from Share also. I never did get it to work. But then I did not try very hard.

Thanks for pointing this plug-in out! I played with it for a while, and there is an easier way than the somewhat confusing instructions. I used V4, but I assume it would work with any figure, given the proper map.

    1. Install the preset files.
    2. Load V4 & whatever MAT file you prefer.
    3. Select V4
    4. On the Surfaces tab, shift-click 1_Lip - 3_Toenail (so all 15 surfaces between the 2 are selected )
    5. While holding the control key, double-click Wet and Tan or Dry and Tan
    6. An options window will come up, select Surface - Selected Images - Ignore
    7. Click Accept
    8. On the Surfaces tab, shift-click 1_Nipple - 2_SkinTorso.
    9. Under Tanline on the Surfaces tab, choose Victoria4_Torso.jpg for the map (it's in the zip file)
    10. Set the map color to white (225-225-225)
    11. Select 1_Lip - 3_Toenail excluding 1_Nipple - 2_SkinTorso (10 items)
    12. Set the map color to black (0-0-0)
    13. Render the image
(note: the tan lines will not show up in the preview, only the render)

    Hope this helps!

    Hi there
I was trying your method. It's much better but,
my tan line turns out to be that of a body suit, instead of a bikini. see images.
also i did not find Victoria4_Torso.jpg exactly. I had something similar but not exactly as that.
Also under 8. I think you mean 2_Nipple not 1_Nipple
also under number 10 I think you mean black is 255-255-255
also number 11 should be 2_Lip not 1_Lip

thanks for helping out. It's almost perfect but i am still not getting bikini tan line. just body suit tan line.

They are Shader Mixer shader presets with texture masks designed for V4's UV mapping, I don't know about G2's V4 UV's but G1's V4 UVs are not good, there is distortion and stretching at the seams, so these wont look good if you show the back of the figure in your render.
