Here is my go at this.  This one is quite solemn and poignant, but it fits the theme of the month.

Lovely to have you join us Sisyphus1977  ... Really powerful scene.. and goes well with the theme this month.  Thanks for sharing!

like the cat in the box you never know if the chicken is live or dead until you crack the shell. If dead scramble, if alive may need therapey after seeing mom on the plate. Very Well Done mori_mann

A week you say, it only takes me to 2 or 3 days to kill almost any plant. Except for my petrified cactus. That one lasted two weeks, and now that I think about it that is how long my plastic lillies lasted. Dead and Alive the art work looks great Llola Lane.

Here is my lazy entry. Damn, I always end up working in the last hours and again very little effort. The actual scene took me 10 mins The background is a backdrop cc0 picture.

Some of my favorite art pieces took very little effort so I get what you are saying TristanQEverett... only question is... Is he DEAD or is he ALIVE?  giggles... Well done!  Thanks for sharing.

Very nicely done TristanQEverett. If he is related to Dr Frank's little boy he would be alive and assembled with parts from the dead.

While it's July for me too, I believe there still are a few minutes left of June in DAZ-land, so I'll sneak in my last minute rush-work of Dead and Alive. Inspired by a saying we have in Sweden "den enes död är den andres bröd". (something along the lines of "the death of one is the bread for another"

(I had to shrink the image from my usual UHD-resolution in an attempt to get rid of noise. Still didn't get rid of it all, but it'll have to do)

Thanks all. I checked everyone's artworks and they were great. Isidorn, your artwork is so realistic. If you have trouble with noise then do check this out.

  • deeleelaw57deeleelaw57 Posts: 1,478

Don't see much noise, just an early misty morning feeding frenzy. Move Ducky move, this is not the time to play dead. Very well done isidorn.

  • mori_mannmori_mann Posts: 1,152

Dead, alive.. they do go together in all of June's images. Well done, everyone :D

@Isidorn we have the exact saying in Dutch.

That saying is so true in ANY lanugage... ;)  p.s.... Noise is perfect in this scene.. adds to the ambiance (although I don't see much noise)  ;)  Thanks for sharing isidorn!

So I went through a few ideas for this Happy/Sad challenge and ended up with this one (the other one I could not get the framing and compostion just right).  I purposely have the offset with the lips to show a more disjointed view betweeen being happy and being sad.

    Hi All,

The Tale of Aka Oni and Aoi Oni

Once upon a time in Japan there lived two Oni; Aka Oni and Aoi Oni. Aka Oni loved human children and he was always thinking about how to make friends with those from a nearby village. He invited them to come to his house to play but none ever did, which made him very sad.

His friend Aoi Oni, seeing how sad he was, came up with a plan. He would pretend to attack the children so that Aka Oni could rescue them by driving him away.

The plan worked and Aka Oni was able to befriend the children and they came to play with him.

After a happy day playing with the children Aka Oni found a letter from Aoi Oni.

It said, “My Dear Aka Oni, if it is discovered that you are really a friend of the bad Aoi Oni they will stop their children from playing with you. Therefore I am leaving. Please live happily with the children. Farewell, Aoi Oni”

    Aka Oni wept.

I had originally intended to make a render inspired by this tale using a Japanese setting; unfortunately my main laptop then fell apart. Using my old backup I've had to substitute Minotaurs for Oni, etc. Fortunately hide and seek is played everywhere and everywhen.

Happy and Sad, Hide and Seek

    Happy and Sad Sisters

It's simple math honey. Oh thats right you got a D in math, so let me explain.
    Your sister's GPA 4.0, yours 2.0
Your sister an academic scholarship, you, we had to pay extra to get you in the local two year college
your sister after graduation will have some wonderfull career opertunities
For the next couple of years you will attend summer school, college in the fall and flip hamburgers or deliver pizza for extra spending money. After you graduate you can move up to cashier but only if your math grade improves.
It's OK sweetie look on the bright side, one more D and it would have been a skateboard.
