Genesis Shapes WIPs

Hello,
These are some character shapes I've created Genesis 2 Male, mostly using Blender. They are independent of any pre-existing shape, except for the base.
First up is Baal.

I like the Head face work, could so be used in my AD&D based stuff. Body would need a bit of sculpting but I could do that myself.
Thank you. I'd have no problem releasing it for free, if we're allowed to release our own models here. I did have the intention of selling some of my stuff, but I'm not quite there yet (quality-wise), so what I have in my collection is up for grabs.
Here's a Treant model (Genesis 2 Male). This one pretty much 'broke the mold', so it doesn't really conform to Daz quality standards.
As long as you know the proper way to give away just the Altered morphs and other content, I would so like those I've seen so far. By the way the Freeposatory is for giving away free items here. You will need a off site place to host the files, like ShareCG or DropBox ect...
Okay, I will look into packaging them up properly and put them in the Freepository. I realized some content went there, but wasn't sure about character shapes/morphs.
Here's one I was doing of Thanos (obviously copyrighted by Marvel). Unfortunately I did not separate the morph into various parts, so he comes fully muscled.
Oh yeah, any item of any type is fine in FreePoz as long as its free. Is still a NICE figure, If I did Marvel Fan art I would use it. But I create my own hero's so I can publish without worry. For Fan art that's a cool morph.
Baba Yaga is the archetypal witch from Slavic folklore. She may be a goddess, or a fae, or she may be an incarnation of Death itself. She is cannibalistic by nature (assuming she's human), rides a flying mortar and pestle, and lives in a bird-legged hut.
She does have white hair, but I have not yet mastered the art of creating Daz3D hair.
This shape will eventually go in the freebies section. Any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks for your assistance, Jaderail. Much appreciated.
NM miss read
My Genesis shapes (for all versions) will go in this thread in the future. Don't want to clutter the board.
Shape: Xybit
Would you like us to merge all 3 of your threads so they are all in the one place?
That would be great, thank you.
Threads Merged. They Merge by date posted the order can only be edited by you MobiousD, you can edit your own posts to reorder things if you wish.
Thanks for the merge.
As I mentioned in my Freebies thread, I've started building Thanos' armor, and I've made some adjustments to his face/neck.
I may break from the comics a bit, and go for a more technological look.
Toying with the idea of using arms as attachments, and creating some Hindu deities. This wouldn't be applicable to geo-grafting, due to the way geografting works. However, I can still attach bones and make them poseable.
Please delete thread, thank you.
Nope not pulling this thread, just because you need to learn a few things is no reason to give up or get mad. Did you know of this in the store

I agree there, as I posted in your thread over in the Freezie,
So, in other words if you can work out the horns a different way, then that one will be fine as well. These look so good, it would be a shame to not work on them further.
We want to help you do this, are not trying to discourage you, just guide you to the right way to do it.
I'm not mad at all. Discouraged? A little bit, because 3D workflow requires a certain amount of copying. If I select 20 vertices, copy them, and extrude them to create an entirely different model -- that is generally considered fair use. Retopologizing anatomy, thereby creating unique meshes? Again, fair use of an existing mesh, as long as the image/character is not copyrighted (Daz3D cannot copyright a human).
I don't mean to sound argumentative, but this dilemma has admittedly put a damper on my willingness to create new content.
As I said in the other thread, no hard feelings. I understand where you're coming from.
3D workflow does not need to require any copying of existing meshes. The only things that require any copying of existing vertices are geografts, and, I believe there are special rules involved in creating them. All of the things I've created for my use in Daz, I build starting with a basic Primitive in Hexagon, such as a cube, sphere or cylinder, not using existing mesh. For your Baal horns, I'd probably start with either a cone primitive or a sphere (more than likely the latter because it's a completely closed shape), and re-shape it into the shape I want. To make sure it fits the Genesis figure properly, you simply need to use the Genesis base figure as a mannequin while building your horns or clothes, etc. there is no need to make the horns from any part of the Genesis mesh.
Tramp: I would like to see the rule in print where you are allowed to copy vertices specifically for geografting, but not for creating original meshes.
Geografts require the use of part of a figure's existing mesh because it essentially replaces that mesh and thus has to line up perfectly. I don't know all of the legalities involved in their creation or distribution. In fact, the only geografts I've seen for sale were in the DAZ store, so DAZ may have a very tight control on their distribution. Your horns don't have to be geografts, however.
Your Face morphs are allowed as they used the Base shape to MOVE verts and or copy maybe even, as in Mirror the mesh to both sides, but once converted to a Morph it requires the User to have the Genesis figure to use the morphs. All you need to do now is model the horns yourself from a primitive shape OR make the horns part of the FULL morph from the very start. Which I doubt can be done and have a high enough mesh count. Your good with blender I can see no reason you can not just remake them from another mesh or two, you could even load the ones now made as prototypes to look at to get the shape correct, but then save the new version to be used by a user. I dabble in Props but leave this big stuff to people like you.
Jaderail,
You can't get more 'primitive' than a single vertex. That is what I started out with.
I'm only Trying to help you. I personally BITE at modeling and thus BUY content or use free items. My prop work is very basic stuff. I just wish you to move forward in your goals and do that in a way that does not violate the Sites rules so you can offer your work to any that would enjoy it.
I hope you get it worked out. the Baba Yaga character is pretty damn cool, I would like to use it someday soon.
please continue.
Unfortunately, my personal failings prevent me from continuing my work. I wish Daz3D and the community all the best.
