Problem : I installed the new US -- Pines as well as the Nature pack 4 ..but pines does not show up in US at all. it is located in Props in smart content and under "U" in content library.
I cannot figure out how to get it into the correct place .. or what to do.

I have purchased all of the USC modules. What are the ecologies I should see in the generator?

When you launch the UltraSceneCreator script the new ecologies should show up in the "Ecology" tab.

nope .. no pines. I uninstalled and installed a couple of times. even restarted my computer. The Nature pack 4 is there, as is the Pines USC, but for some reason not matching up. in content library, all of the USC modules are in the same place, including Pines, but not in smart content. OOPS on my part, but I have not tried to run the script from content library. I always use smart content. I can find things much easier in there.

Checked in content library. no pines in there either. not sure where they went to. I have random strange problems like that in my DS ...

Instances to Objects is in the Platinum Club for a Day sale for $1.99! You can use it to convert some of the instances that UltraScenery creates into objects, if you want to apply different mats/shaders. smiley

So I tried Instances to Objects, but no matter which instances I select, the results are that all instances vanish, gone from the Scene tab too. Perhaps it will be updated in the near future, as it was updated for UltraScatter. Has anyone tried it successfully or InstaEdit?

I do not think InstaEdit can do it

@HowieFarkes, You're not gonna believe this… UltraScenery - Mossy Hollow is out today, and it lists Nature Trees Pack 4 as a required product! Even after all the trouble you went through to get both of those straightened out!

I have - of course - notified Daz that the incorrect requirements are listed for UltraScenery - Mossy Hollow.

I've mostly tinkered with USC, but I finally have a first true scene using the script. This Ultrascene was created with Lake 3 and Oaks 11. The mountains in the background are the BZone prop from TerraDome 3 with a Mountains morph applied. The prop is significantly further back than the default load. I used the SS Sun Node for lighting, assigned to a camera I created just for the purpose, (as recommended somewhere else in the forums.) I then rendered with Draw Dome off and added the sky and clouds in Photoshop. (I also tinkered with levels…)

    Fall Colors

    Fall Colors, by L'Adair

The full-size image is 2000 pixels wide, and can be viewed from the Gallery page here.

Beautiful scene! Love the colors and bzone. Was wondering how TD3 might be used with USC, and this is a great example!

Also, regarding your render settings script, I suggested in this forum if Howie could just flip optimization to memory when the Build button is clicked. That way we don't have to remember to do it, and it would be even more helpful when switching to another HDRI that might set it back to Speed. He hasn't replied yet (understandable given all the add-on etc.) but hopefully it is easy enough to do.

This is a fantastic scene. The mountains really add something to the scene.

    Cheers,

    Alex.

Have you tried the "Background: Extend forest" option on the build tab? Might make the forest look deeper.

  • ArtiniArtini Posts: 9,467

Thanks for the tip. Yes, I have tried it, but not on the recent renders.

i wish i could figure out how to get the PINES into the script, but it will not go in there. I even updated metadata a couple of times. uninstalled and reinstalled through DIM. Now I'm not even sure I have all the ecologies, even though I have purchased everything.

Then I can buy Mossy Hollow USC. I bought the required product yesterday so this one I'm all set ... but the Pines the pines.

If you have all releases up til today's (I haven't installed it yet)

    Grassland 1-3

    Harpwood 1-4

    Oaks 1-12

    Pines 1-7

    Willows 1-9

    Woodland 1-5

@dawnblade - I have successfully used InstaEdit to break groups into separate instances and successfully used Mesh Grabber on them.  It will forewarn you that there are many instances to be done and how many it will be.

Sometimes, you just can't win for losing wink. At least UltraScenery - Pines is now correct. Hopefully most folks will figure out what UltraScenery - Mossy Hollow needs or will already have it.

Thanks ... all in there but the pines then. Not sure why they will not show up. Have no idea what to do. They are actrually in DS ... in PROPS. in smart content.
In Categories - U - Ultra Scenery - Pines in content library. What's strange, ALL of the other products are in this Category listing, and all work other than the Pines product. I'm at a loss as how to fix this.,

Going to buy the Mossy Hollow product and see where that ends up.

That is the problem with InstaEdit for me - it only works on all instances at once, but not on a particular one,

so you get a heavy scene, after such editing.

I have not used before the feature of UltraScenery to edit of already made one.

    LOL!

I've been reading the comments about the underwater pebbles and rocks and stuff adding render time.  In those cases, would it be helpful to use one of those "planes" that bascially hide anything beyond it from rendering in iray (like used on the indoor cameras)?  (i.e. stretch it out uder the water surface)  Sure, you would not get the visibility of the rocks and such, but in many renders in this thread, the reflection off the waters surface obscures those anyway.  Just a thought...

It seems that https://www.daz3d.com/world-gardens-japan-for-daz-studio is last of my Farkes purchases (DS) that needs to be gathered into the ecologies collection!
