Sound samples - free

I've received a lot of help from this forum. I want to give something back. I want to record some ambient noises and sounds from my Roland Fantom X keyboard and upload as .wav or .mp3 so that you can use them (if you want).
It wouldn't be something I would sell or collect any royalties for -- just a no strings attached thank you for being so helpful. I can't really offer much in the way of modeling or even 3D expertise but, this I can do.
Where would be a good place to upload the files so everyone could easily access them?

You may be able to share them via ShareCG, or you could set up a Dropbox account. I have both.
Both are free as well.
shareCG is probably the best place to post. They have a menu for that.
Although I search all the music and sound FX on YouTube; but that would mean for you 'off community'
I do have a ShareCG account and they're not terrible, but then again, they require account not just to upload, but also download. That, I don't like.
The advantage with ShareCg is there is some feedback on how people like the product, how many time it has been downloaded, etc. The problem is, as I mentioned above, the requirement that you have an account. This could turn some people off.
The advantage to Dropbox is that you don't need an account to download the file. The disadvantage is that there really are no metrics available to show you how many time a file has been DLed. The other disadvantage is that you have to really push the Dropbox link yourself, as there are no tags or other means for people to find the product unless they find the post with the link.
Personally, I use both. I'll put the file on ShareCG, and when I announce it, I also put in a link to the Dropbox file for those that don't want to go through ShareCG.
I'm going to work on these this weekend. I'll be uploading to my reverbnation.com account at http://www.reverbnation.com/laynemoore . It lets me specify whether or not the song can be downloaded by the user or just played. You don't have to have an account to download a song and the site lets you preview it beforehand.
I'll keep them at 16bit 44.1 kHz (CD quality) for the sake of file size. If you find one you like but need something specific (or saved at a higher bit rate - I record in 24 bit and downsample to 16 when I make the mp3), let me know. I'm going to try to add some string pads and orchestral stuff too -- we'll see how productive I get.
I have other recordings there as well that I've done through the years. My music style is rock, pop, ballad and piano stuff. I own all the songs so, if you use one in a movie, give me a credit and shoot a link my way. I'd love to see it.
This will be a Carrara weekend! Looking forward to it.
Also, I just heard DuDu report that 16 bit 44.1kHz is a rate that works within Carrara! Coincidence? ;)
Thanks laynemoore! I look forward to them :)
There are 12 uploaded so far.

Click "All songs" and the sounds files begin after a song called "Someone Like Me" with an MP3 called "Space."
I will add more as time permits, or if there are any special requests, let me know.
Enjoy!
Very nice! Wow, you have some great songs!
Made me remember that my guitarist from waaaaaay back put up a video of us (Kixx Wikked) playing "Cult of Personality" back in 1992
LOL! Wow the permanemanent I had then!!! LOL
(clever misspelling of permanent: courtesy of Bugs Bunny)
Fun times! I still play my drums live with a band called Dow Jones, but we're slowing down due to my current guitarist slowly losing his life to a horrible illness. He still does some shows with us... I'll help him with pretty much everything. Well, all of us do. My singer is writing some songs so we can make a CD before the bad day comes.
He's the guy on the far right. I, of course, am the guy sitting on the throne :)
This was last summers beach party we play every year. We usually play full four hour shows on stage with lights and such... making this stuff a total blast!
Layne, I like your stuff and shall have to purchase some of that! Bravo!
PhilW is a musician as well :)
You guys rocked it so hard you blew the windows out and peeled the paint! :ohh:
Dart,
I'm sure your music and your friendship are his great strength to face the bad day. He will live in your hearts forever. The music always wins.
Let me understand, Dad, but that "bush" filled with hair who plays drums in the movie, are you? Really?
Grande Dart!!!!
P.S. Grande = Great, super,
Did you click the link Layne gave above? Check out his songs. They're very good! Great voice too!
Thanks son.
I love playing my drums. I also love to sing! :ahhh:
Hey, man thanks. Sorry to hear of your friend's illness. Prayers for him, his family and friends. I'm glad you can share the positive force of music together.
That Roland - I've had it for about 3 years now and I don't think I've really heard all the sounds yet. That sounds kind of sad but, it's true. I'll post more when I get the chance.
Do you play the drums (in your songs) on a keyboard, or do you play drums? I like your music, Layne. I really do! I'm talking about the songs you sell there.
The songs from the 2008 album are drummed by myself on a Tama kit. Sadly, I sold the drums not long after recording those songs. The keys are also me. Since I don't play guitar (unless you count the opening bit on "Just Leave Me Alone," which was meant to be more comical than anything), I have guitarist friends who record parts for me and send back a .wav I can insert into my Tracktion file. It's weird these days to think about how my stuff gets produced. Guitar for "Do You Know You're A Star?" was recorded in Denver. Guitar for "Just Leave Me Alone" and "I'm Good For You" were done by a great friend in his home studio in southern Kansas. Crazy stuff but, a lot of fun.
I'm recording here and there when time permits hopefully for another album. Due to space (and lack of real drums) I'm using the Roland playing drums with my fingers. There are some good kits and I'm looking for a good deal on the Fantom expansion drum module to add 50 more kits. I have some pretty good mics but, not sure I could mic a kit as well as the keyboard samples sound.
