Hip movement only???

Been looking through the animation forum and have not found this question yet, hope someone can help. I'm currently working on a 45 second animation that requires the figure to only move the hip, all other body parts need to remain fixed. I have tried to pin the body parts via the universal tool, but when going from PART A (start) to PART B (finish), the hands slip into the other object, they do not remain fixed. Any help or advice on only moving the hip, would be greatly appreciated. I'm using M4 in Daz Studio 4.6 Pro on Windows 8 Pro 64bit.

Thank you
raynesinder

Well, there will have to be some movement in other body parts - and there will need to be some slack in the starting pose to accommodate the movement.

Thank you for the quick response. That is what I have done with the animation, however, the hands still fall into the other object. Will I have to tweek the animation throughout the timeline til the hands and other body parts seem more static and the motion fluid?

daz has no good pinning ability for animation
    forget about it
you cant do it in this program
and...like I've heard it does not work in Carrara

This is not True. You can do it in this Program if you take the time to KeyFrame the hands as you go. It just depends on if you are willing to do the work needed. If you need easy, then no do not do it in DS.

I was gonna say... You can animate the hands to keep them in the same position if they tend to move. Like Jaderail said, it might take some time to do, but that depends how much you care about the project. Is the project for a quick laugh on Youtube, or is it important?

yes you can animate by keyframing but he's talking about pinning
if you animate pinned nodes they slide because of interpolation
pinning does not work with animation

There are tools that can really pin a bone to a fixed position, you can find them here:

    https://sites.google.com/site/mcasualsdazscripts/

But it takes a lot of knowledge to sucessfully use them - you might want to reduce the movement of hands by normal keyframing first, and finally apply the scripts to reduce the remaining trembling that is too hard to stop without them. In my last animation (shown in a thread next to this one) I've successfully locked horse hooves to the ground after landing on it, even if horse body (including hip) still moves. You can take a look as an example how these scripts can work (even if they are designed for humans, not horses, and I've modified them to work with horse rig).

    Good luck with your project!
