Urban Jungle, Urban Gorilla

This image is based on a wood carving I did of a gorilla dressed in a suit and tie, holding a briefcase, and talking in a cell phone. The inspiration for the carving came from a nature program I watched and the descriptors they used for the gorillas based on the environment lived in - lowland gorilla, mountaing gorilla. That started me thinking about other environments they could live in and since I like puns urban gorilla immediately sprang to mind. Gorillas in our Midst, is another pun that came to mind.

  • Reminds me of the character Olongo Featherstone-Haugh from L. Neil Smith's book The Probability Broach and its sequels.

I'm not familiar with that series although that is a great name.
